college basketball is my passion out of all sports, and when i did cap on this forum a few years ago i was the top hoops guy on the site.

i know all about the games, and teams, teams to watch, etc. that team will never go anywhere with huggins

I could understand that :ohno:....During his 25 seasons as a head coach ranks him eighth in winning percentage and seventh in victories among active Division 1 coaches. He is one of only 4 active Division 1 coaches with 600 career victories.... We will see where they are seeded come March.

i didnt, i said there a mid tier big east team.

This isn't the year to call West Virginia a mid tier big east team. They are the second best team in the conference this year behind Villanova to start the season. And by seasons end they might be the class of the Big East.

we'll agree to disagree. you got to win the games, not just look at whats on paper. several coaches with similar talent id take over huggins and wvu.

Well gtc, if minny can get by Clemson (which I don't think they will) then minny and WVU will play in the second round of a tournament out in Anaheim on Thanksgiving weekend. If they do match up, I would expect WVU to win that game easily by double digits. The gophers arent even in the same class as WVU this year. Oh... and I'll take Huggins over Tubby Smith any day of the week.

Just curious who do you have ahead of WVU that would make them "mid tier"

Very high on this team, as I was last season. It's big that Truck Bryant was re-instated, and Mazzula will play as well. They have a very balanced team, and be especially tough on the glass with Devan Ebanks, Kevin Jones, and Da'Sean Butler. They lost Alex Ruoff, but also brought in JC Player of the Year Casey Mitchell, and highly touted recruit Dalton Pepper, who will fill in Ruoff's void as a shooter, but being a better slasher. This team is loaded with talent. Ebanks, and Butler have All Big East 1st team potential, and Kevin Jones should be improved from a solid freshman season. Nobody teaches defense and rebounding like Huggins, and you won't find a more physical team then this one. That's why I give them a edge over Villanova, who many have picked ahead of WVU. This team really has no weaknesses. They can play defense, rebound, and score. They may need 1 more shooter, but with Pepper, Mitchell, and Butler they should be fine.

I am already down on them for the national title at 14/1

i laughed when the guy said he'd take huggins over tubby smith.

tubby smith is one of the best defensive coaches in the game, and when he recruits, like he is right now, his record speaks for its self. i have a real block in my mind with huggins, i think he's a thug.

minnesota beat a way better louisville squad last year then a wvu squad they would face this year as well.

agreed with the WVU love. Big East is down this year and they have a very talented team. I like them behind Nova. UConvict at 11 is way too low IMO homedawg, although i hope you are correct

I still have Nova at the top of my list. With Scotty and both Coreys coming back, they will have the experienced back court needed to make a deep run in March. They also have Taylor King eligible, and Yarra from Montrose Christian (Durant, Klieza, Vazquez) is going to be a diaper dandy. Yarra is exactly the PF they needed.

Georgetown is also going to be a lot better. Losing Dajaun Summers is going to be a blessing for this team. He took too many pull up shots and the ball rotation died whenever he touched it, which is really a shitty thing when you are running the Princeton Offense. Monroe is back, Chris Wright, and Austin Freeman are both Juniors and are posied for breakout seasons. I know the core guys of Wright, Freeman, Monroe, Sims, and Clark stayed on campus all summer and lived in the gym.

1. Nova
2. Georgetown
3. WVU
4. Louisville

i'm not that high on Georgetown. I think they are very thin, and will struggle shooting and rebounding.
