A guy I did play Little League with once did confess later in life at intentionally throwing at me. Never got me but had an arm. Brother played football at Purdue. Nothing like playing Little League with a guy that can throw hard as hell yet has little control and on a big mound that feels like he is almost at the plate
I'm not even old but these days of playing 3 sports all year round are over unless you are ridiculously gifted. Now, you are pegged and given 12 months of training on whatever it is. 7 on 7; AAU, baseball all summer.
I was the starting pitcher in a llws championship game. No joke. Taking the mound as a12yo in front of 30,000+ was pretty insane. I will never forget all the memories at Williamsport that summer.

I played 1st base and left field......True story.....I was 9 in my first year and played for the Indians. Being one of the youngest I saw limited game time. This was before the "everybody plays and gets a trophy era. At the beginning of my second year my Indians manager called me and explained that there were more sign ups than spaces on existing teams yet there were not enough extra sign ups to form a new team so each team would have to send a player or two to this new team (Cubs) to fill the roster...Of course I was the player sent over....It was kind of an expansion draft.....I must have been a lousy player to be let go in the expansion draft
