I mean seriously...

1.) San Fran O-line and D-line are almost fully healthy both smiths are back Iupati and Staley are active. Crabtree, etc..

2.) Green Bay D-line is not in good shape, Jolly is out and BJ Raji was down for a while last game.

3.) Both teams on the upswing, but San Fran has been on that up swing for far longer. Sustainable. Can we even call GB on a upswing?
Lets be clear. Green Bay was one play from losing to Chicago just last week.

Whats going for Green Bay?

-Home field ( im assuming the 11k unsold tickets is due to bad weather, which leads me to this next point)

- Extreme Cold/Windy: Favors Better OL a-la running game , favors the running QB, hinders the team whose game plan is to throw the ball a bit more then the opposing team.

I also LOVE when teams play a pocket QB one week and then the very next they have to play a Dual Threat. Sometimes on third down they just expect a pass.

Yes lacy is good but he hasnt ran well against a run-D like this. Last 10 games defenses have been... Bears, Eagles, Giants, Vikings x2, Lions, Falcons, Cowboys, Steelers, Bears.

Yes, they hung 28 on the niners week 1. Week one displayed a healthy Green Bay Defense and SF was just a different team then. Now, GB D is suffering, and Niners are healthy and playing much diff then their week one form. Not to mention 9ers still won that game.

If anyone has something for GB please dont be shy.. one last thing. Ive seen alot of "Last four games SF is 3-1" for reasoning.. really? Your counting Alex smith and Troy smith in your equation..Geez.

Kaepernick seems to get himself up for Green Bay, Like the 49'ers but will be a tight one. Line seems on the money, IMO.

BOL with your plays.

Here is what scares me about SF: this will be their 2nd road game in a row, and coming off a very physical game vs. divisional opponent. They were on short rest for last week to begin with. They ran out of gas against Zona, scoring just 6 points the final 3 quarters of the game.

Couple that with having to lay points in a very nice home field in Lambeau and you have the makings of an upset. You never know when Kapernick could make a bonehead play either, I don't trust him at all.

As of today, I'm about 60% sure I'm betting Green Bay with the $$$ coming in on the niners. And of course the media & ESPN seem to also be riding SF.

High of -8 on Sunday in Green Bay. Do either of these teams want to come out of the locker room? You've gotta take the guys who've played in Lambeau cold with revenge on the mind.

What im thinking is the cold is just going to make Kap run the ball more, which *should* limit his mistakes. Back to back road games doesnt scare me. Giants did it, packers did it, SF can do it. You do bring up a good point about fatigue though. I feel like both teams were physically/emotionally drained after week 17. I just cant ignore the better running game, better D, better coach in cold weather. One thing that does scare me, is AR is going to take his shots in this game. DBs better be ready...

Not saying SF isn't the better team, they clearly are. Just making a case why GB could pull an upset. Aaron Rodgers winning a home game doesn't take much stretching of imagination. I will likely pass on this one.

Playoff teams with a record of less than 9 wins are 6-0 ATS in round 1. Read that in Pargasports' thread.

If Carson Palmer can throw for 400 yards against the 9ers I can't help but wonder what Rodgers is gonna do to them with all his weapons back.

Well, if KAP can throw for 400 against GB what is he gonna do this time?

Yes, the passrush has been an issue the last few games for SF. I think one reason is they just arent playing all out, secondly Carlos Rogers was mostly responsible for that debacle in the air last week. Fitz was eating him alive all game. Rogers is not playing this week, much more confident in a healthly Eric Wright then Carlos Rogers if he really is hurt. Not to mention SF rushed three/four almost everytime during the Arizona game. Rarely blitzed, ran no twists or stunts....im sure that all changes this week, esp with a weaker OL then Zona.

I really just think SF hasnt been motivated since Seattle, and the most telling piece of info for me is, if you look at their entire schedule, they basically won by DD against teams with average to below avg defenses everytime, and the close games happened to be against teams with good/great defenses

Everyone can say what they want about the last two games, but Arizona is a VERY GOOD team. SF beat them in their place. Atl, well they almost beat CAR the week after SF beat them by DD. ATL was playing very well the last few weeks. So even tho SF may have "Limped" into the playoffs to some.. to me, they played two VERY GOOD TEAMS at that point in time, and won both.
