Going by my own personal computer ratings I have 7 SEC Teams currently ranked in the Top 12......

Florida State lost the #1 spot and is now tied at #3 ...........

Oregon moved up to #2...............

All in the Top 12 are from the SEC (7), Big 12 (2), Pac-12 (2), ACC (1)

The SEC deserves at least 2 Spots in the Playoff at this point.

Ohio State is not in the top 25 in the ratings at the moment nor do they deserve to be at this point........

Florida is now ranked #11 in ratings...........

Obviously, a lot of things will change throughout season, but that is early assessment via computer.

The SEC may deserve two playoff spots, but I just don't see the voters giving a 2nd SEC team the nod over a one loss Conf. Champion from the Pac-12, ACC, or Big-12.

Current last place rating goes to SMU..........June Jones bringing back the Death Penalty Days after bringing them back to some bowl games.......

1st place rating at the moment goes to Auburn believe it or not...........That said, they got 3 brutal Road Games in November..........They have Home Games against A&M, LSU, and South Carolina as well........If they somehow get through all that mess just give them the Title and call it a day.....

Going over and looking at some games this week in the SEC and matching my own personal power ratings against the line

Georgia vs South Carolina..................My line is Georgia by 6................Vegas line is Georgia by 6 ............We agree on the line here.........

Ole Miss vs UL-Lafayette..................My line is Ole Miss by 18...............Vegas line is Ole Miss by 26.5...........Seems like a reaction to last week's results from both teams determining difference here.

Tennessee vs Oklahoma................My line is Oklahoma by 18...............Vegas line is Oklahoma by 20.5............close enough

This is what my power ratings are showing:

1. Florida St.
2a. Alabama
2b. Oregon
4. Auburn
5. Oklahoma
6. Baylor
7. UCLA
8. USC
9. Georgia
10. Stanford

I obviously still have UCLA way too high and need to make an adjustment there. Maybe swap them with Texas A&M?

Here are my Top 10 power ratings (more objective than subjective via computer (for instance Florida State dropped to #3 this week on mine and it is what it is, but on the other hand they've been sleepwalking through the first two games which the computer recognizes )...That said, team currently ranked #1 has a very difficult schedule this year.

1.Auburn
2.Oregon
3(tie)....Florida State
3 (tie)....Alabama
5.Oklahoma
6 (tie)Georgia
6 (tie) LSU
8.Texas A&M
9.Baylor
10...Southern California

Stanford at 10? Even after their loss to USC?

These are based on my power ratings, not the typical "rankings" like the AP or coaches polls. Perhaps I started the Stanford # a bit too high to begin the season? I only dinged them 1 point for their loss on Saturday. If you look at the box score Stanford had over 100 more yards than USC, but were -2 turnovers and missed 2 field goals.

What to do about UCLA? They ar a thorn in my power ratings right now. I almost took them last week based on those numbers, but luckily I bowed to the RLM and backed away. In the past, w/o keeping power ratings I would have just played Memphis based on the RLM no questions asked, so it kind of cost me an easy winner. Think I might give them a 5 point haircut so they can go hang out with South Carolina, another disappointing team thus far. That would leave Ole Miss, Mich St, and A&M tied for my #10 spot. The only things I wonder about UCLA is if possibly they were looking ahead(to Texas) somewhat last week and then that early 9am PST start in week 1 probably did not help as most college kids can't even wake up to make an 8am class.

They are 2-0.........They still have Hundley and Myles Jack along with Mora as their coach so they could wake up ........I still have them at #16 in power ratings....

Anybody who doesn't have Auburn and Oregon on top doesn't have a good list. These are far and away the two best teams in the country right now. I believe the Michigan State team that Oregon beat is a much better team than they'll be given credit for going forward. I think they could offer some good value in the coming weeks. UCLA is by far the most overrated team in America. As I thought they were at the beginning of the season.

why barn? struggled for a half vs bad hog team then played an outmanned SJ one....both at home. haven't seen anything yet but agree about Oregon which is why i'm the person that put em #1. you toss a near 50-burger on that MSU defense? that's insane
