I bet the Cubs today and it is raining in the 7th inning! It was 5-1 after 6 innings so if it continues to rain for 3 more hours then I win the game!

Come on rain gods, rain this baby out!!!!!!!!

If it continues to rain and gets rained out, it will be a suspended game and finished tomorrow.

I think it depends on your sportsbook on what happens if the game gets suspended/cancelled.

"For the side 5 full innings must be completed, 4 ½ if the home team is winning. For the total and run-line 9 full innings must be completed, 8 ½ if the home team is winning."

I believe for the purpose of gambling, that if the game had been called with Cincy leading 6-5 in the bottom of the 7th with the Cubs still batting and with only one out that those holding a Cubs moneyline ticket would be winners. I think what they do is go with whatever the score was at then end of the last COMPLETE inning which in this case would have been 5-1 Cubs.

They wouldn't be able to do that since the Reds took the lead. They would probably suspend it until Sat.

But since the game did go five innings, the sportsbooks would have to make a payout on moneyline tickets as long as the game wasn't tied. In this case the Reds would actually have the lead but the Cubs wouldn't have had a chance to bat in the bottom of the inning. I believe the rule is and someone who knows can correct me if i am wrong that once again they go back to the end of the last COMPLETE inning. They would treat it like the top of the 7th inning never happened since the home team didn't get a chance to answer in the bottom half of the inning.

fourtoday is 100% right

if they didn't finish the inning - and called the game - the score would go back to the last complete ining.

HOWEVER

if the cubs had trailed 6-5 going into the 6th inning - and scored 2 in B6 and before the inning had been completed the rains came and washed out the rest of the game - THEN i think the cubs would have been declared the winner - along the same lines as B9.
