Danny Gallivan and Dick Irvin were a fantastic team.

Foster Hewitt is up there too (esp coming out of retirement for Canada - USSR 1972)

Bob Cole and Harry Neale are good when they remember the names and don't cheer too loudly for the Leafs

I loved the old Whalers radio guy... Chuck Keaton I think his name was... I believe he is in Carolina now... was the head of the NHL radio broadcasters union or board or whatever. Great hockey play-by-play guy, puts New York's hockey announcers to shame

Is that the guy that calls Steeler games? If it is the guy - high piched, winey, sounds like he's getting his testicles worked over in a vice, he's the one that gives me seizures. Within 30 seconds. I've got some hospital bills for him. Always wondered who it was. He drives me friggin' nuts!

Rattler -- I believe you are thinking of Myron Cope. Mike Lang has great phrases (Buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too!!). Dan Kelly and Chuck Kaiton (Whalers and Canes) also classics. Mike Emrick also solid.

If I wasn't a Steeler fan, Cope would drive me nuts too. He is somewhat of a legend in Pgh, invented the Terrible Towel in the 70's, etc.
