At first, I was thinking it was all the Shrink's fault. But I don't know if that is fair. the shrink seems like he was trying his best. If it is not the shrink's fault, then someone please tell me who to blame?

Who said they are done? I dont post enough on here to be a shmuck to a regular but dont you read man? The betpanam brass was having some problems but they resolved it. THEY SAID EVERYONE WAS GETTING PAID. You guys are all blowing this out of proportion I think. If anything, all of their clients come from the forums, so it is all of the guys from the forums over reacting and taking their money out, causing even more problems. But, THEY ARE TO BLAME FOR WANTED TO ADVERTISE ON HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Teaser, I would just let it go to rest and let them resolve it.

on the BetPanAM Home page there is not a single warning or notice for new player that they are unable to pay their bills....what a joke this place is....just reel as many people in before the Super Bowl as possible and dont pay the few winners that want some of there money. Keep all the losers money. And continue to steal and lie on the home page. nice company. Please take the Weekend Warrier thread off the Rx site.

When a business fails, I believe ownership is responsible...

And when that happens, it is usually due to poor management, in general...

100% agree with Shrink here. For the Rx it's an embarassing situation but it's no more than an honest mistake. No blame should be laid on anyone except management IMO. And I also agree with Matt...it's premature to talk about their "collapse". Give them a chance at least to live up to their word.

Teaser, how can you even think it was Shrink's fault for the predicament this book is in right now?

How did you reach to that conclusion? It's the people who are running the show at Panam who are responsible for the current mess. Shrink is a total outsider. It's like blaming me if I had a website and recommended them.

What I do blame Shrink for is heralding them as the next big thing without due diligence. It was a total embarassment for this site.

Good point
Ken is not to blame for there collapse, there might be accountability for the level of diligence done in connection with accepting them as advertisers and promoting them ( a brand new book ) so feverishly at first, but I do think Ken is taking the appropriate course of action now. Moreover, that course of action is a very difficult one for him.
I find it hard to believe this book will fail and not honor all its debts. I would also love to know about the $500,000 bond and what the deal is with that if it does fail. Can anyone comment on that?

The only one to blame for this mess is the management of betpanam,I for one hope they pull through this and move forward that will show me they are in this for the long haul not just a quick profit.

Guys, while I can't feel strongly enough that the Shrink really blew it in hyping the $500K bond if in fact it either doesn't exist or can't help the players let us keep one very important thing in mind....

THIS IS EXACTLY THE SAME THING THAT WAS HAPPENING WITH ROYAL A COUPLE WEEKS AGO...AND EVERYONE GOT PAID EVERY PENNY.

Not to say that PanAm won't go belly up, but keep the probability of it happening in perspective.

Actually, after reading the Shrink's tirade in another thread here I'm not feeling so much like this is similar to the Royal situation anymore...

You cannot possibly imagine the chit companies hide during the "due diligence" process. Besides, things may have been fine during the examination period and fell apart during the football season.

This is a joke. This place was being run by people who failed at everything they have ever done and were able to con some locals in to bankrolling them. What did anyone expect.

Can't blame me... This soothsayer was busy telling the Dick Gephardt Camp they stood no chance at winning. Fortunately he listened

Seriously now...this panam situation should be an awakening to all of us. NEVER gamble more than you can afford to lose. Never leave more money in your account than you can afford to lose.

I think the investors for their choosing of management, but I would think management failure is the root cause.

As far as the forum promotion, I am as guilty as anyone. I was naive enough to stand by Mike from GA until the last breath and I was right there defending Panam until this.

I still have faith, but as a representative of The Rx.com , I have to take some responsibility for the hype I assisted in.

Betting is fun, moderating is fun, posting is fun, assisting in player disputes is something I enjoy, working with books is fun, assisting posters is fun, some of the food fighting was even fun, but this is the not-so-fun part of it all.

Betpanam will no longer be a reputable sportsbook after all of this. hell the only players they had were from these forum sites!! That in itself in NO WAY to run a sportsbook. You cant win by just having customers from these watch dog sites. You will get burned over and over!!!

You need customers that no NOTHING about watchdog sites in order to make money. You need squares.

How do you guys think that sportsbook.com makes a shitload of money each year??? Because they dont even want customers from sites like this one! They have the best name in the business and people who play with them no NOTHING about internet gambling usually

General, I fear I already know the answer to this, but can you tell us if this $500K bond actually exists and, if so, anything about its purpose?

playersonly,

You are mistaken for believing that PAN AM only has players from these forums...

SunDevil,

The General would have no clue, but let me share this.

When I went to visit them first hand, I was not only told by BET PAN AM that this existed, I was also told by someone very high up on their political latter that there was indeed a bond for this amount...

Did I actually SEE it?

NO...

DO i believe it exists?

Not sure at this time due to all that has happened lately and the fact that no one from their company has commented on this...

It would help if Bet Pam Am would comment on this extremely important issue!

In my opinion

This Forum should not promote (as in saying its the next best thing, and soon to be a top 10 etc)
any book unless they can prove that they have a track record to go back and refer to.

So, alot of money was sent to this operation because lurkers and posters rely and act upon information disseminated by person or persons of this forum, so with pumped up claims and then the operation sinks after a few months then the reporters who have pumped up these operations have to show some kind of accountability for having a run to the book and a run from the book.

Let this forum report on the books with a record, let hem advertise on their own, and if there are problems, mediate and report

thats just my opinion
