i swear on my dad's grave that I had NO IDEA who the prime minister of Canada was too until some guy told me last week. I still don't remember who it is. I think it is some guy named Pol Martin or something. I am still not sure. I honestly thought it was still Jean Chretien. That's how much I read about politics.
That problem is over now for me. I haven't watched Canadian news and never read CDN newspapers. But that problem is over now because I had only had Directv for the last 6 yrs and never watched any local tv. Just this mornig, I finally had for the first time local satellite. I have got 27 CDN channels and 79 US channels. So I will be now watching more canadian tv because I lost my Directv satellite, but this canadian satellite is incredible. I've got tons of sports and the NHL network is something i have never ever seen. Best channel i have ever had in my life, including Directv.

I have videotron CABLE now but I dont like it as much as Direct TV.

ss, i can't believe you have Videotron cable. That's what I just got today. I've got illico videotron, and I am loving it even more than Directv. The only thing I don't have is the sports packages. Big freakin deal. Sports is boring anyways.. Who the hell wants to watch boring basketball games every night. I'd rather have my 4 NBA games a night, 4 NHL games a night with the local sports networks here and the WGN's and TBS's and the Superstations from LA, BOS, NY and so on. Who needs all these sports anyways. I've got my same shows on this satellite that i had before on Directv. I had NO IDEA you were able to get Videotron. I thought only montrealers can have it.

WEll, Illico is not bad, however I liked DirectTV Much better first & foremost becau it was FREE...Videotron is 75$ per month for all the channels.....also I miss no ESPN...no coverage of COLLEGE sports at all...No FREE PORN!!!!!!!!!

ss, directv was good, but i will not miss the dish going down every month and being without a tv for 3 days and having to drive far to drop off card and have to go pick it up again. I will not miss those soft core pornos on chan's 593-598. Who cares about college sports. I got a great deal with free receiver, free installation, and only 55/mo canadian.. I have everything i had before with Directv with this satellite, minus ESPN and sports packages, but big deal because every ESPN game is on tv on another channel in french or TSN..
But most important is, I am now legal.. I have people here 4 times a week, and I hate telling them I have no tv. I will never be down again for a measly 55/mo cdn..I cannot be any happier right now.

i did too SS, for the last 6 months I had it. It was a mikobu, but sometimes i had no US local channels, or sometimes i still went 3 weeks without a good program and sometimes I still went 12 hrs without any satellite. Altogether, it was still a headache and always worried when people or relatives came over that there would be no satellite.
My problems are all solved now and I love this new satellite. I am in heaven because just before i was watching Pulse News Montreal which i haven't seen in 6 yrs.I missed it. And now i am watching the HABS of the 50's highlights on the NHL network
