Everyone is talking about Bonds and Beltre out west and the three players for the Cardinals in Pujols, Edmonds, and Rolen but to me the NL MVP is the tandem of Tony Larussa and Walt Jocketty. In the offseason, Jocketty with no ability to add payroll put together what end up might being the best team in NL History. Larussa then molded this team and got them focused on the goal of proving the experts wrong. Larussa was stung quite a bit when they called the Cards soft last year after the 5 game series in Chicago and then the 3 games in Houston. His team was prepared in the most important place ..... mentally. These two men are the real MVP's this year and for those who doubt these Cards will at least make the World Series, think again. Even after the Cards had mathmatically clinched last Saturday, he wouldn't recognize it until Cards won on the field which turned out to be Monday in Milwaukee. This team has had a few injuries and Tony has rested starters for about 3 weeks, but believe me when I say this team is prepared for all comers in the NL. I even think they may want to see the Cubs in NL Championship to prove it once again to all those doubters. Once again, Congrats to Walt Jocketty and Tony Larussa, who imo are the CO MVP'S IN THE NL and maybe in a month all of baseball!
