I have a monitor that does not work when plugged into the computer.

Monitor 1 + computer = black....pitch black

Monitor 1 not connected to computer = "no signal" message

Monitor 2 + Computer = everything works fine

Monitor 2 not connected to computer = "no signal" message

Monitor #1 is where the problem is, obviously.

Only way to confirm it is not blown is to connect it to a different CPU and see if you can get a signal

i can/will do that sometime today...

i guess I can comprehend if the entire monitor stops working....but the fact it shows a message that says "no signal" indicates that the pixels (whatever we call them now a days) still work....so that makes me think it isn't a total loss....

one thing i would do is air dust the VGA input on the monitor but it sounds like to me you have a bad input/output on the monitor.

if you have another cord you could see if switching them out makes any difference, it shouldn't but it is one of the first question any customer service rep is gonna ask you.

let us know what happens when you try to plug a laptop or something into it.
