Lost around $5500 this baseball season making my own picks and tailing others in another site. I normally bet $100/game but then started to bet $300 and then $500 and then started chasing. I even tried to win back my money winning back $50/ day but it did not work out.

Well, i am looking for someone to tail. Can anyone tell me who here is good ? I see BigBookie gets a lot of views and this year he is up 120 units which is about 24 units for the season. But the thing is a lot of his picks i see almost always underdogs... not bad but when i see 2 plays of underdogs of +180 and +190, i feel like I am throwing my money away. Nevertheless, +24 Units is great since I am down 55 Units by myself and tailing others in another forum.

I chased, then laid big chalk and have been doing horrible. Can someone give me some posters that are pretty decent like year in year out? I know BigBookie has been posting for 2 years only here. Is there anyone else here that is consistent for like 3+ years?

Thanks.:toast:

This may be your problem. Are you playing big favorites because you "feel like they have to win"?

You can win loads of money with dogs even hitting below 50%, with big favorites, depending how much chalk you lay, you might need to hit 60%. Make sense?

throwing money away??? i think you have it opposite. laying -180 is throwing money away. you have to win 2 games for everyone you lose and looks at how many teams are 66%. I feel dogs or small favs are the way to go. i have been very successful over the years and i play mostly small favorites and dogs. i hardly ever lay more than -140, so to say +180 is throwing money away is completely false

Yes. When i see a favorite -180 and up, i take it b/c I feel like they should win. Few nights ago I took 2 heavy favs Chicago -160 and lost to Oakland. Then took Dbacks -205 against Padres and lost.

I couldnt believe these teams were losing. I was also laying chalk. Also, for somem reason, i hate betting underdogs. I prefer playing Favorites Runlines then underdogs. For instance if say the Angels at home played against Texas and Angels was -180, Texas +170 and I see Angels RL +120, I prefer taking Angels RL then Texas ML.

I did what you did last year chasing every hot capper on these forums. I lost my ass! I learned to follow one or two cappers consistantly. I follow BB and Vegas Runner (paid picks). With the two of them and my own "guessing" I have actually been winning the past couple of months. I'm not out of the hole but I can see the light. The hardest thing for me to do was start playing big dogs. You think there is no way they can win but they do. You don't have to win every day with them just each week. I go from Tuesday to Tuesday and not day to day. Best of luck to you!

as for answering your question only a few stick out that may sway my thinking on the game. Zeke Taylor and Knowthegame are 2 of the better cappers IMO

I can see how you got yourself into such a hole. You have no chance of winning take favorites that big on a consistent basis. None at all

I dont hate underdogs as much as it seems. I mean i dont mind underdogs like +120 +135 but when i see +160 and up, i feel like what a waste of money when the other team wins 9-2.

Is Vegas Runner real good? I heard anyone buying picks from touts is bad.

If your going to take big favorites then the way to win money is to take the RL every time.

Vegas Runner has been good to me. You don't have to pay for the picks. That is why this forum is so good. I have a month long subscription that I am sharing. That is what we do for each other. If you want to contribute you buy picks from a good capper and post them. You don't have to do it every day but maybe once a week or so. It's called givers gain.

As far as the +160, it's never throwing money away. Like today, the Royals were +180. I honestly didn't think they would win but I put $100 on them to win $180. Holy shit they won! The other way to look at that is pay the -200 because you think they are a "lock" and bet $100 to lose $200. It makes more sense to take the dog for me. I never pay the price of big juice. Even when a paid pick is on them I pass. Everyone has their own thought process....

Any team in any sport can win on any given day....but baseball is the true testimant of that. Dogs are where its at.

Big Bookie is consistent.

i dont think you could go wrong tailing big bookie. i mean you are fading his book, which will eventually lose in the long run. just dont be afraid of a nice sized dog. I hit KC +180 and it felt good
