By this , I mean the guy that comes in the 5th , when you're down 10-0, and throws 3-shut-out innings, or conversely you bring him in a tight game, and he gets hammered.

Also who gets the hits, when game is already blown, but can't hit a sac fly, when you need it most ?

I expect a lot of opinions on this !

With pure stats, somebody has to be at the bottom of this heap, I'm looking more for career-wise than anything else.

Call me an instigator, if you will, but somebody is the man.

Also someone is the clutch hitter, and some pitcher comes in and throws one pitch, for wins. The Vulture.

Who are these guys, presently, and long-term ?

Ever since his move to Boston, it seems Manny has been "inefficient". Solid stats, but he doesn't deliver in the clutch.

But who knows. I don't follow the Red Sox that much, so maybe Manny only chokes when I'm watching.

Forgot to answer the second one. I don't think Manny is all that inefficient. A-Rod was the king of the insignifciant homer in Texas, lets see what he does for a team in contention. A guy that comes to mind today as inefficient is Carlos Delgado. Guy puts up monster MVP-type numbers, but never really has carried his team. Granted he could use some help, but the fact that the Jays haven't been contenders in some time rests on his shoulders because he doesn't help them win games singlehandedly too often.

This sounds a lot like Rheal Cormier. This guy is so inconsistant, and can be extremely good or extremely horrible.

:) :) :)

Alfonseca..the absolute worst! But he`s no longer the man...WHen he`d come in a game for the Cubs, it was 50/50 whether he could finish one inning....always walk a guy to start the adventure, maybe two...I could never understand why the Cubs manager would automatically go to him in the 9th...

Alot of pitchers come to mind with this question, Timlin,Nelson,Fassero lol...

Delgado seems to hit all his homers in meaningless games...then again we`re talking about the Jays..
