I think that honor may go to Ryan Leaf.

Leaf has done a 180 and acknowledges all of his short comings. 2nd pick in the draft who was collossal bust to breaking into homes stealing narcotics from players he coached at a small time college to going to prison to now living a normal life as a small time ESPN commentator.

If your able to escape the lowest of the low(which many do not) we live in a very forgiving society for the most part. Most enjoy, praise and encourage a good comeback/underdog story in all kinds of segments of our society.
