I did growing up, and my parents still do now. Money pit, and a extra job. When I was looking at houses, I turned several I loved down bc they had a pool.

Mood you do get one, go salt water.

Who here, who here

We do not now, but expect to when we get next house. It's simply too awesome when you can use it for 9 months a year or year round if heated.

But it is certainly not a profit center and I would advise building in a consistent $100 a month for dependable, quality pool service

I have a pool and 2 palm trees. It's kind of w pain in the ass. Shark sweeper constantly tangles up. The chemicals are a pain in the ass, but a dude comes out for 50/mo. Nothing like falling in a pool in the summer after a wake and bake.

Had one growing up..waste of money imo and would never get involved with one as an adult

Admittedly, it's easier to postpone having a pool when the Gulf of Mexico is less than five miles from my back door

own a nice inground cages pool, with spa that watefalls to the pool.

i spend about 12 bucks a month cleaning myself and get a new filteroff ebay every few months. With 2 kids 10 and 7 it is well worth it for all sorts of year round entertaining here in FLA..

You forgot the biggest bill, electricity to run the pump, and water...

If such factors cause you undue stress, than having a pool at your home is probably not the best idea

Just pointing out the obvious. Chill. I've had a pool for over 25 years.

When it's all said and done, I'd rather go to the lakehouse and enjoy the water, boat, and fishing.

Btw, I think it's fair to point out the cost of ALL EXPENSES when someone asked a question, "Is it worth it"?

electricity isn't cheap
water isn't free
chemicals can get expensive (I prefer salt)
liner repair and replace isn't cheap
covers aren't cheap (if you need one, most do)
filters, mentioned are pennies compared to the real cost

are you a pool guy? if so, sure is.......spend our disposable income in things we enjoy. Of course it's costly; wouldn't cut corners in construction/layout/heater. As MattyMatt said, expect higher utility bills. Wear and tear will occur...expect this.

The Pump doesn't have to run all the time. When it does, have to run, 5Team generates the electricity needed for that by pedaling a stationary bike attached to a converter which harnesses the energy from his pedaling and turns that into the electricity required to power the pump.

I once fell THROUGH a Pool Cover, into the water below, while trying to escape a bowling alley with a stolen bowling ball. :(
Haha! Ours will hold a car up, but your balls will still get wet...

Oh Man I wish that one had been like yours bcuz after I fell through, clutching the handle of the bag that the stolen bowling ball was in, the pool cover prevented me from getting up out of the pool water and I damn near drowned :(

Mostly because I was trying to escape the pool while still in possession of the bowling ball.

Eventually though I was forced to abandon the bowling ball, in bag, at the bottom of the pool....just to remain alive.

Better pool cover such as yours and I might have that bowling ball to this day. It was Purple.

Thats why I stole it.

Obviously.
