i agree...he is absolutely brutal. he is to blame for the cubs losing game 6 of the 2003 nlcs...not that dorky bartman guy.
it boggles the mind why he is always listed as one of the best in the game. i watch him "manage" games all the time and he makes mistakes that a rookie manager wouldn't make.
Well if he is so bad, he sure has a knack for getting the most of his teams...can't say he's the best strategist but he is a winner....and he was a pretty solid player too.
i just want to get in this thread because red007 and red eye posted, to make it a 3red thread.
but really, seems like baker used to take a lot of heat for riding his horses too long, lately seems like he has a quick hook. carey and stone were shining his knob about the decision to pull prior on thursday, but you gotta think that prior with under 100pitch count is better than anything you're gonna bring outa the pen in the 7th.
3-time, 3-time, 3-time manager that brings his NL squad to the playoffs... Yeah, his on-field talents lack, but his clubhouse skills seem to be pretty good...
With the new Reds ownership just about any manager could win. Dusty sure isnt that good,he keeps using Cordero. If he uses Cordero in the playoffs he should be fired.
