This last 5 games stuff it’s like running in circles with you on your subjective reasoning.
SF D today isn’t playing lights out. But it’s not playing horrible either. Bit sloppy with few penalties. Eagles most certainly aren’t just cruising along. And Hurts hasn’t done much.
It’s also not helping the Offense gifting the defense of SF bad positions to start from.
Either way SF needed to step up bigger given the circumstances but they failed to.
Chris. The entire post was why a different defense may show up related to the last 5 games. Everyone else wanted to turn it into a who's smarter bashing mess.
Im not putting aside that Purdy went out. Philly took no chances. They played very conservative and the game could have been a lot closer.
Without a lead they (SF) were not that good. Even when it was 7-7 they still didn't take control.
How could you take control with a 4 string QB? Game was over as soon as Prudy was gone. It would have been the same for Philly if they lost their QB. Sometimes you are on the right side of luck. You can't handicap that. To me it didn't matter who won. If you can't see that you have a closed mind.
The QB loss was all the difference in the score. I agree.
But was pointing out that if SF was the great D as claimed we should have
could have seen a 10-7 game or 13-10.
The Philly defense was good but not their best. They would have given up more points with Purdy playing.
So Troll - if the Bengals would have won by 3 then you would have said the same thing about the KC defense. Thats what a troll does, who never posted a play.
In fact they were, just as posted, 1st and second and the fact that both teams were held below their high scoring averages it validates that.
It was as close as they were on the season and more close to the last 5 games allowing 16 and 18 points.

The Niners game was unfortunate Purdy injuries first series. Kid gotta give us a half to at least grasp a lil insight on how these teams match up.
Eagles were gifted great already scoring positions a few times. Part in thanks to a good Phi D. Other in part to a 4th string journeyman. However, SF D didn’t do a good job limiting 1-2 of those possession to a FG. That’s on the D. Two FGs would gone down if not for flags on 3rd down stops. But again some of that is on the D.
Eagles were pedestrian on offense to several degrees. Hurts didn’t look good. 250 total team yards offense not good at all. They were bailed out several times by flags. SF accumulated a bunch of flags. However, Phi much like SF last week s Dallas was able to play conservative. It’s the smart play can’t blame them. No need to open the O up given the challenge SF had on offense
I favored a higher scoring game SF vs Philly. Believe I predicted a 26-24 game. Or 31-17 eagles blowout if Purdy is trash. Despite believing both teams have elite D, often times these styles clash and big explosive plays pop. Much like championship games for some reasons overs and points pop off when good defense is involved
Unfortunate we were robbed of a great matchup and it’s potential with the early blow to Purdy. Hard to know how it would have played out
The bengals game was as expected. Believe I predicted 23-20 OT. Cin D was legit and Cin unfortunately was screwed on flags a bit like SF but bengals got way more BS questionable calls. Even the PF on Patty was BS imo. Too late in game too big a call on a QB who ran vs a LB making a play. These are fractions of a second on a full momentum player heading towards Patty. It was a weak touch with Patty already momentum wise going out. Slow now and replay always makes these things look worse
Bengals D was legit today. KC D was solid. Cin was down 3 OL guys. The pressure by KC wasn’t surprising. KC took a blow with Tooney JuJu Hardmen going down. Boyd went down Cin. Patty was hobbled. Both teams sorta caught some breaks on D personnel wise
End of day Cin looked like the better D today imo. And probably deserve the win.
I’d still rank SF and Phi Over Cin D. KC the worst of the bunch. Cin D being the wildcard D that is better suited for certain teams than SF or Phi. The 335 drop 8 is a tuff out and great RZ D. Complete bend don’t break D. Phi run scheme would been an issue for Cin D.
