A brokered convention? You think the establishment is willing to blow themselves up to keep Trump from getting the nom. I'm still hoping it will be Bernie VS Trump. Then my guy GJ might get some steam.

Would Romney really outline the scenario to do so in a speech if that wasn't the goal? Doesn't seem like the type to just take random excessive risk and put himself out there.

I think if it is for Cruz then MAYBE you could pull it off. For anyone else then Trump's massive base is staying home and you're screwed so just let him run and see where the chips fall.

Trump wouldn't waste his time doing that, it would be pointless.

Just send out a tweet saying something like "GOPe screwed me over" and it has the same effect as all the effort and campaigning running 3rd party would take.

Trump doesn't like to lose, he isn't gonna sign up to lose. And as Hillary's presidency went on, Trump would be known as "The guy who gave us Hilary" and he would be universally despised.
