So we definitely know they want BOTH Alabama and LSU in the BCS playoff..both of those teams bring big bucks, travel well, maximize TV revenue and have prestigious program histories to play off of. The only way for this to happen is for both teams to have one loss..look for Alabama to win here, ML or a teaser might be the play.

We definitely know they DO NOT want TCU in the playoff, although I think even if they do get it Boykin is a story they can weave....but really, a mid sized Christian school with no prestige in the final four? I look for an upset today from Ok State..maybe a few courtesy flags from the "un-biased" officials.

Notre Dame - no need to even speculate, the BCS wants them in. Huge money, huge following, huge plus for ratings. Don't waste your money taking a flyer on Pitt ML..doesn't happen. No way, no how...

Michigan State and Ohio State - they play each other in a couple of weeks so I gotta side with Sparty today against a downtrodden Husker squad...the line is under a TD and I think the Spartans stonewall Nebraskas pedestrian offense and put some points up against a strained defensive line. The Huskers do have some big recruits in the stands so I expect a strong effort from the Huskers, but in the end Sparty takes the W. Sparty off a buy, I'll lay the 5. Small play

Ohio State, who the fk knows. Urban Meyer with a bye week, they get the W here and stay at #3, maybe jump over LSU if Bama wins. Ohio State is good for the BCS, they are money generators, I don't see an upset today..Minny just doesn't have the horses. If anything, maybe a Minny 1st half play and a Buckeyes 2nd half play - OSU has been starting very slow this year in the first half, and rolling in the second.

Baylor - already played this week, have the Sooners next week. Bye bye Baylor, great season..you are a BCS death sentence.

Iowa - Indiana, Purdue, Nebraska and Minny left on their schedule. In typical Iowa fashion, they will shit the bed in one of these games. If I had to pick, probably at Nebraska last game of the year. BCS has bigger worries today than to put an "un-biased" crew on their field.

not sure it's a matter of who they want. it's more of who they prefer not to have.

The ncaa already has their money in hand. they are getting P-A-I-D for these games. whomever plays, will still get ratings....they will sell out the stadiums no matter who plays. commercials are sold already. the final 4 is simply a matter of storylines for NCAA and ESPN and they can weave any story they want. TCU has Boykin and Doctson and the "small school" storylines. TCU has already proven they can travel and bring a crowd and proven many times they are a quality football team.

i think any "funny business" would happen in the conference championships. no way they would want Iowa beating tOSU/MSU. or a 1-loss Florida beating LSU/Bama. or anyone beating a 1-loss NDame team as you mention...or a 1-loss Stanford team.....

i actually think they would prefer to see undefeated teams in the final 4 if they could. Clem, LSU, Bay/TCU, tOSU/MSU....

Well I guess that takes care of Michigan State and TCU.

Pretty much playing out as expected.

Baylor and Iowa need to go down then you will most likely have your dream playoff matchup.
I think the Sooners beat Baylor this weekend and Iowa will shit the bed...even if they don't they would have to win the Big Ten to make final four and that won't happen.

Bama - will not lose to Florida
LSU
Notre Dame
Ohio State

TCU can still beat Baylor and Oklahoma....It`s very possible.

And Michigan St can beat Ohio St.....That can happen.

No way ND gets in over Clemson, who I don't see losing in their last 3.

LSU is done. They are a really good team, but showed last night they aren't good enough. No matter how much they'd be good for business, they aren't getting in.

Stanford-ND winner will have a strong case, so long as they also win out.

Ohio State is in so long as they win out, obviously. Iowa probably too.

If the B12 can get one team to run the table, they should be in over ND-Stanford.

Also, the BCS doesn't exist any longer.

Clemson, Ohio State, Bama all should control their destiny. Notre Dame maybe too, unless B12 has an unbeaten.

Still a lot of things can happen, obviously.

People in the north do not want 2 SEC teams - fact. Far more TV's here than in the south. Adding Clemson to it would make it worse. They would relish Ohio St and ND though.

Here is where the SEC lovers lose all touch with reality. They say the B12 champ and ND don't play in a conference title game, yet want 2 teams from the same division in it (when only one can play in their conference champ game).

Ahh...Clemson..the forgotten team all year. They lose a game and drop out of top 4, although they would not be a complete loss for the BCS, they still have to play @ Syracuse and South Carolina...two potential trip up spots. I personally think Syracuse gives them a scare this week, but they survive and lose to SC or in the ACC Championship game.

If they run the gauntlet, so be it...I just don't think they make it.

They didn't want LSU and Ala in the playoffs. They wanted the TV revenue for last weekend. It is all about $$. The TV networks controls the game.

I'm less concerned about the committee, they're from different corners of the greed universe (yes, they're looking out for their schools and their conferences when they can)

I'm more concerned about what can happen in a conference game. What will the attitude be if one call can mean 16 million dollars (or more) for the conference OR not?

????? How's that happen. Committee has them at the top of the mountain, and I frankly, don't see them loosing a game. UNC in the Conference Title game will be interesting, but I'll take Watson over Williams any damn day of the year. And Clemson D jelling at the right time of the year. Only way Clemson (that's the Tigers for that moron that couldn't figure out one of my threads) doesn't get in is if the entire team steps on their dicks at the same time.

The committee isn't saying Clemson is the best team in the country, they made this clear....Clemson is #1...that simply means that up to this pt they present the best overall performance to date...the comm makes no predictions on future games...they may believe Clemson will loose out...that doesn't matter...they are #1 up to now....this allows the comm to get anyone they want in ( see last years BS with the big 12...body of work bounced the # 3 down to 6 without loosing). I believe the big 12 is in for more of the same...

I cant imagine the Big12 will want all their teams to have 1 loss at the beginning of December. That happened last year and the committee gave them the middle finger.
I get the feeling the winner of OKSt/Baylor remains undefeated and in the final 4.....

I dont forsee Clemson losing either. These conferences know what's up...and exactly the reason the conference championships were so wholly noncompetitive last year. They dont want their top dog losing and missing out on the final 4. I suppose 1-loss Fla/Bama would be "unscripted" and perhaps Iowa/tOSU (man, an undefeated iowa team making the final 4???? scary). The winner of those 2 games would be in the final 4 I'd like to think.....but I dont forsee the SEC or B1G risking it and having ND/Stan jump them.

we really need 8 teams in the equation.....otherwise end of year you're going to see a lot of blowouts for the top teams so they can get to the final 4....

I don't see that Baylor freshman QB beating both OSU and TCU on the road. OSU will kill that kid with their corner blitzes. If Boykin can't get away from them, I know the Baylor kid can't. The key to that game will be who runs the ball better. Baylor showed some chinks in the armor on defense against KSU's running game the other night.
