The scary (or sad) thing is that the power sweep mag is a good read and lots of research goes into it, yet Phil Steele couldn't make a winning season if his life depended on it. This guy is all about good research and writing, horrible "flip a coin" type picks, lots of marketing hype and 49% winning percentages
If he were smart, he would hire a legit 59% handicapper and fire himself (or confine himself to writing his excellent newsletters). I suspect his ego won't let him do that.

Phil had a "top opinion" on the Jets.
Here is his scam: if a "no star rated opinion" wins, you will hear ad nauseum over and over about how they had a "winner" on the game.
if he loses, you will not hear a peep about it because, according to Phil, opinions are not "official" plays because they do not count against his "sports monitor" record.
Phil tries to say he is the most honest capper around, but he is a "subtle" hypster. It is too bad, because I think he really was honest back when he was winning (about 5+ years ago)
