Wayne Gretzky

“Wayne Gretzky is easily the greatest athlete of all-time. He owns just about every offensive record in hockey. No player, not even Babe Ruth or Michael jordan have even come close.”

Daley Thompson, Jim Thorpe, Jackie Robinson or Carl Lewis would be the logical choices to me, but who knows whether the two track and field guys can even dribble a basketball or throw a baseball.

Brian Jordan was also a two sport all star

Being great at one sport doesn't mean (at least to me) that you are a great athlete.

Thorpe, Secretariat, Emil Zatopek, Meseret Defar (current Ethiopian woman, still turning crushing wins)

Bowling and horseshoes, how can you go wrong. Any sport where you can drink beer and play you have to be an athlete.

All Bo Jackson did in baseball was strike out. Out of 2,393 at bats he struck out 841 times. I remember when my buddy and I were living in a studio apartment and he came up to bat. We would just laugh because we knew the K was coming. I just think he was overrated in bases and he only batted .250. He friggin played during those years in the late 80's also when the darn ball was jumping.

you guys, we all have missed the obvious correct answer...TheManeJ. I mean, he hooped with Laurent Robinson and hit threes in his grill.

Chamberlain was pretty gnarly too, played pro volleyball after retiring and:

He ran the 100-yard dash in 10.9 seconds, threw the shotput 56 feet, triple jumped more than 50 feet, and won the high jump in the Big Eight track and field championships three straight years.

5 star:

how many games did you see jim brown play?

heck, how many games did you even see walter payton play?

cmon man. nothing but respect for you as one of the good guys here. but isnt it tough to analyze brown vs. payton when you likely never saw either play. but certainly didnt see brown play.
