I go Bill Simmons. He knows MLB, NFL, NBA. He has a good cult following. He's friends with a bunch of people in the sports and entertainment industry. He's good on pop culture as well. Plus he LOVES to talk gambling.

Only downside is the Boston love

Don't think I've ever seen someone put Jim Rome on the Mt. Rushmore of sports broadcasters.

Oh, Mt. Rushmore?

Crap. Should have thought this through better.

Mt. Rushmore though, dead guys would have to be allowed.

So Cosell = automatic.

No, guess what I'm saying is if there's a Mt. Rushmore that means your top 4. I've never seen Jim Rome in the top 4 of anything.

White ASox announcer Harry Carray Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Caray considered himself a man of the people, so he frequented bars instead of doing his drinking at home. It was fun, but it also was work: In the 1970s, Caray had incentives in his contract with the Chicago White Sox tied to attendance, so part of his partying was drumming up business to get folks to come out to Comiskey Park or watch on TV

Jack Brickhouse is most known for calling Cubs games, but he was a versatile broadcaster.
