We can only judge greatness by how he performs on the pitch and he performs better than anyone. I don't even think about him being on another club because he isn't.

you might want to think about him being on another club because he is...other than Barca he plays for his country(argentina)....and if you don't know, they have not done a thing w/him at the helm since Maradona's bs in '86....he still has another 3 years to prove to me he has a knack for the back of the onion sack the way Batistuta had for los albicelestes....as for his role at Barca, yes, he is aces...but i want to see him do something radical next summer...especially, since it is being played on his own continent...cheers

Cocktails...who's your picks for the confed cup? I'm thinking espana over brazil but does Uruguay have what it takes against brazil? Being able to rest some key players was big against Tahiti yesterday, no?

straight honest answer my man, i have watched about 10-15 mins total of this thing...my brain usually shifts to 100% horse racing as soon as the FA cup goes final(so long as the euro or world cup isn't taking place)...but from what i do know of both squads, on their toes i totally think Uruguay can match Brazil on the pitch...sure....as for Spain, i wish nothing but ill will on them whomever they play

Barry Sanders once played on the Detroit Lions and they were shit. Was he a really good NFL RB?

yes, he was incredible..yer kind of backing my point....i would like to see messi pull this magic off with the lack of talent like sanders had around him...again, i'm not saying he is all-time...but EASILY?...i have to argue that comment is all...cheers

a missed pk by forlan and a header in the waning mins got brazil by....they are hardly what i would consider world beaters, whether on their home soil or on planet Neptune...Uruguay has possibly the best starting front line in the world, it can be argued...by no means are or were they outclassed by the samba boys

Bring on Spain. It's about time these two go head to head .

Brasilian soccer is what we compare all to- highest compliment . Good game Uruguay, see ya next yr....is that 57 matches without a loss on home soil? Don't spoil it Italy. :)

Ronaldo. Why over messi?

Messi was born in the system of barca. Came up in their youth program. So he has been playing with his teammates since he was a child. Messi plays the striker spot.

Ronaldo started in the portugese league then went to england at man u. came over from england to go to real madrid. Keep in mind he is a winger. A winger that plays defense too. Defense and is a winger and scores twice as much as regular strikers.

if messi was on another team. I dont know if he would be the best. Ronaldo has done that so in my opinion the best player is ronaldo. But it is very close. Hard to have a wrong answer in this debate. Except for saying wayne rooney lol

zidane is probably the greatest of all time though but thats another debate

The main reason I like messi over Ronaldo is Ronaldo seems to turn the ball over more being too fancy/creative. As you said tho, mob, it may be that messi is just more comfortable with his teammates and where they're capable of getting, if that makes sense.

Yeah i hear u man. Ronaldo tries to do too much sometimes. More flashy than messi, no question about that. Both are great passers but if i am starting a team id take ronaldo for the reasons i mentioned. A lot of messis success is because he has greats all around him. Iniesta is probably the third best player in the world right now and he plays with messi

don't speak for me...i don't compare shite to brazil....it's relative to what is the latest and greatest...for instance, wouldn't one try and emulate Spain or Germany at the moment?

Not speaking for you, :). Brasil is Brasil- history is on their side. Always a threat , always a favorite . Great run for Spain in the last decade. Fantastic actually , they are the cream of Europe.

Now we need for it to happen - Brasil Vs Spain. If anyone can stop The Samba boys on their soil , it's gotta be these guys. Get OUT of the way Italia...

i am betting against both come next summer....maybe silly, yes...but both i am sure are the top 2 favorites or at least 2 of the 3 faves(Z Germanz)...would love to bet on my country again...but they have abused me enough...Uruguay, Arg, Italy if presented with enough value for me

Next summer? Give me Brasil and Argentina. On South American soil? 4-4 in world cups. Bring it on Euros, :). Actually , Western Hemisphere? 7-7. All Champions have come out of South America . England? Not a chance in hell. Fook off Germany you ain't winning shit....Spain scares me, surely their run comes to an end? ...the ball is round , we shall see.

Was born in The Hague...we have an abundance of youth and veterans if they can put the enormous egos aside...and a coach who won't show nepotism to an aging son in law midfielder....we are always dangerous but they have hurt my emotions beyond repair
