"Typical, uneducated protectionist."

If you really want to turn this into a childish pissing match rather than addressing facts, I'd have to wager that I've passed more hours of graduate level Econ & Poly Sci classes than you have.

Only reason I think Walmart is bad because it knocks out all of the local businesses where you can get better and more personalized customer service.

I do though disagree with some of the posters saying that you are less or a person for going to Walmart.

If anything, education in Poly Sci takes away from your credibility. Additionally, i'm not impressed by your public policy economics courses. Btw, you took the affirmative stance, so YOU have to present your argument first. I guess you haven't taken any debate courses.

Drives a Benz and looks down on people that shop at wallmart. Money really buys class. He should refrain from using redneck and trailer trash. Those are bad names ya know.

I think Pearl tampons are like the Cohiba Esplendido of the Tampax corporation. The finest available.

He replied "ditto" in a happy hannukah thread. Kind of strange to reply that way if he isn't a jew.

If you say something like this (below), you should put on your flame suit.

come on...you gotta do a little better than that. people saying happy hannukah means they're jewish? i say it all the time to my jewish customers out of courtesy...and they tell me merry christmas.

i'm not calling you a racist or anything but, dont try and spin it with the happy hannukah nonsense.

It's not Walmart I have a problem with. It's the kids that smell like vomit, red neck daddies smelling like they have not showered in a week and the fat ass mommys smelling like ass and quarter pounders.

yeah, that was pretty much the reason for my post. seems like i may have offended my boy kornholio...didnt mean to bro. you know i love you kid. you're aces.

maybe the walmart downstate is nicer, i dont know. but this one...it needed a good hosedown. then...some lysol or fabreze or something. then, maybe a barber, laundromat and baby-changing station or two.

i have never been inside a wal-mart store before today. i had to go in there on the way home from work to get some stupid thing for my wife's christmas grab-bag nonsense. anyway, i go inside and i felt like i was at a trailer park convention or in traffic court. these people are scary.

i thought walmart was the same as target but, i was sorely mistaken. if i ever have to go back there, i'll bring my banjo and wear overalls with no shirt so i'll fit in better.

I like Wal-Marts. I can go in those stores and come out feeling like a high-class motherf---er after bumping into some of the people that had to have had roles as extras in the movie Deliverance.

I try to avoid Wal Mart as much as I can because of the people that shop there. Kids screaming. The most trailer trash you can find. Plus going into the Super Wal Mart is so freaking huge. I feel like I"m at Disney World.

I prefer Target for so many reasons.

the documentary about WalMart really exposes them. how employees dont receive medical insurance and cant even afford to take their kids to the doctors.

its called The High Cost of Low Prices.

i've heard people mention this before. what i dont understand is...if its such a crappy place to work then, why work there? i mean, this is america...no one forces anyone to work somewhere. unless you're a prisoner in louisiana and you have to cut down weeds along the highway with your leg chained to the next guy.

Don't get me started on the damage this shit corporation does to communities and the US as a whole.

Couldn't agree more. I took a class in college called Organizations & Society and we spent a good month just on Wal-mart and how fucked up they are.

I absolutely refuse to shop there.
