With all of the recent deaths, who are the best of the living?

I'd say:

1. Bob Dylan
2. Bruce Springsteen
3. Jagger/Richards
4. Paul McCartney
5. Eric Clapton

I'd put Brian Wilson and Stevie Wonder ahead of Springsteen - and Sting...

I know many will disagree, but I'd put Billy Joel above Springsteen, but that's more just a personal preference
in their songs...

A few good ones that miss out because they haven't been around as long like U2, the Police/Sting. But there really hasn't been any memorable musicians come along that are both great songwriters and performers since the late 70's.

I wouldn't have Bono or Sting in my Top 30. Just my opinion.

Now i've read this. Zit threw out a good one Brian Wilson. Stevie Wonder didn't even cross my mind. He's probably my favorite of the above mentioned but is he considered rock? Same with Dylan always consiered him more folk. Does Springstein have that big of following that he is even in this discussion?
