I'm assuming a lot of you degenerates pay the extra 150 bucks or so and get the directv mlb package.

I must say that I've really enjoyed listening to former MLB reliever Rob Dibble call the Nationals games. The hitting is fine but the pitching is garbage and he actually rips them. It isn't so much that he says " this guy sucks", he criticises their approach, not going after hitters, ( but then pitching to the #4 hitters)

- Rob's funny
- He's an elder reliever with a ton of experience
- Sometimes I learn from him ( he teaches), but he's not a know it all
- and he rips em' the way an angry losing gambler could ( in the nicest possible way).

anybody else you like listening to ???@)

What team does Steve Stone for?

I've heard some other good guys, but I can't think of their names right now. I was actually listening to I think the LA Dodgers game a few weeks ago and I thought the guy doing it was great. Old sounding guy, but he was really good. Not like a fiesty young degenerate.ex player like Rob Dibble, but like an ambasador of baseball/older guy/ do things the right way/ appreciate the game kind of guy.

You could tell he loved his job, and he was a pleasure to listen to.

Favorite announcing team definitely has to be Don Orsilo and Jerry Remy...it's too bad Remy is out with cancer, hopefully he will be alright

That guy you are talking about is Vin Scully, and he's a legend when it comes to broadcastng

I'm a Sox fan, but really I do think they are hands down the best announcers in the game, they compliment each other very well and Remy is real funny. I also think they tend to be a bit less biased about their teams while announcing

Actually the sox guys are pretty good too. " The good guys are up 3-2".... Picks to click...I think they actually ARE more biased towards the white sox but not blantantly annoying.

I mean, it's not like Joe Morgan ( racist old hack) or Joe Buck ( pompous deuche bag)

This Yankee fan thinks Remy is one of the all time great analysts, on a par with the great retired Tony Kubek.

I can't stand the Mets but Gary Cohen is as good as they come, his 'it's out of here' call can be a tad annoying though, but not nearly as annoying as Michael Kay's 'See ya'.
Cohen's knowledge for the game and it's history is extremely impressive.

On the Yankee side, Jim Kaat was as good as it gets, too bad he's gone, Singleton is a very good listen though.

Bill Brown of the Astros is amongst the best and easily the most underrated.

I like Gary Thorne and Buck Martinez on masn doing oriole games ... Buck Martinez has a strange nasal quality that's a little hard to get used to , but once you get accustomed to it they do a great job .... but no doubt Vin Scully is the man.

... for the person that asked : Steve Stone does chi sox games with kent harrelson.

Going way...............back, some of the old timers I recall:

Bert Wilson of the Cubs: "I don't care who wins as long as it is the Cubs" and then there was Bob Elson on the South Side
(the White Sox); he was a read "dud"; he would put you to sleep.

I'm rather bummed that the Rangers are winning right now because the team of Josh Lewin (Chargers radio guy) and Tom Grieve (former Rangers player and general manager) do some great wheels off stuff late in the season. That and Grieve is good for having a few wheels off moments every season when an important call goes against the Rangers.

All that aside, they do a very good job and I tend to prefer their broadcasts over a lot of other local guys when watching games on mlb.tv

Here in Cleveland Tom Hamilton is a very good play by play. Hard to beat Scully though.
