"It became clear to us in our recent negotiations that the money that we were offering was not going to be good enough for Johnny at this time," White Sox GM Kenny Williams told ESPNChicago.com. "At this particular point, we feel it's necessary to withdraw our offer." The Tigers are now Damon's only truly interested suitor and should be able to wrap up a contract rather quickly. The 36-year-old batted .282 with 24 homers and 107 runs scored last year.
