I think it was tongue-in-cheek, that's what a south side White Sox fan is supposed to say about the Cubs. If nothing else, it shows that he's not trying to be a politician and be nice to everybody, he said what most White Sox fans would say. That's alright.

I'm neither a Cubs or a White Sox fan, but I've been to both Wrigley and the old Comiskey.
