Superstar team player with no championship ring? I.E. A-Rod ... or

An unmemorable back-up role-player WITH a championship ring? I.E. Mientkiewicz

No Sox / Yanks wars intended, could be any sport.

Thoughts?

id rather be the superstar without a ring than a nobody with one.

a-rod will win a ring anyways, i can all but guarantee that. i hate the yankees as much as anyone being a blue jay fan, but they will win it all this year unfortunately.

Superstar without the ring. I could use the cash. Set up the family and whatnot.

I should have worded the question differently. Say A-Rod DOES retire without a ring, etc.

A NON baseball example, Dan Marino or Carl Monroe? One has one one doesn't.

I was a role player on a championship team, and later the leading scorer on a very good, but not championship team. It def feels better being the leader. When you are a role player it's not really that fun

RB Carl Monroe's highlight to fame came in Super Bowl XIX, where he hauled in a 33 yard TD pass from Joe Montana.

Wiki has him dying at age 29....not sure what from

Tough call billsgirl

As the others mentioned, it would be great to be the Superstar with the popularity & the money.

But, then again, a chamionship probably would mean a lot as the years passed & you got older. Also, it's something that would always be talked about history-wise. One other thing is to question and/or consider by giving up the championship for SS status is how many millions do you really need to be happy?
