This subject may sound "corny" to some, but there is a difference IMO. I live in the East, so NFL games begin and end at 1:00-4:00 p.m & 4:00-7:00 p.m. , on average. When I travel to Vegas once or twice yearly, obviously the games begin and end much earlier, 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 p.m. & 1:00-4:00 p.m. . It just seems so much more strange to me on the West~side, with these games beginning and ending much earlier. I mean, for some reason, the later games on the East coast that run late into the evening into dark many times, seems much more exciting for some odd reason. When the games are over and done already in the West at 4:00 p.m., what in the heck is there left to do in the day?! For most people that are anything similar to us here at TheRx, 6+hours of banging our heads with wagering possibilites and the excitement of games, win or lose, throughout the day, 7:00 p.m. just seems a much better time to end such drueling days!

I agree totally Hache! I could not imagine watching a game at 10:00 AM on Sunday...I guess its where you`re from and you become conditioned to it....But if I was West Coast and the weekday baseball games started at 4 O' clock , that would be crazy!

I have often wondered this same question...East has a big advantage I think when it comes to starting times...

Monday NIGHT Football 6 PM

, LMAO that would be so weird!

This does remind me though when I was a kid anticipating the Steelers / Raiders showdowns , or any big Steelers game...I`d stay up as late as I could( 2-3 Am) so I`d wake up that much closer to game time...As a kid I was so use to waking up at 8am , and back then no cable I`d have to sit and watch Blondie and Dagwood to pass the time

Unbelievable Journey! I too, as a kid, would stay up late hours on Saturdays so I didnt wake up until close to game time!

When you woke, or wake up so early, it just seems like it took forever for game time to roll around!

Hache, I had lived in the Central time zone almost all of my life until I moved to NJ back in 1986, and even the difference of one lousy hour aggravated the shit out of me, as I was conditioned to expecting the games to start at noon instead of 1pm. And when I moved to KC some years ago, it was GREAT to have the games at noon because I actually wanted the games to start off my day earlier, and of course which included the college games. But 10am??? Naw, it's all what you are used to, and that wouldn't have allowed enough time for me in the old days to get my chores and errands run before kickoff, not to mention the fact that wings and beer don't sound too good at that time. At least there's a Sunday night game to bring you to 7pm or so on the West Coast.

waiting for "NFL LIve" or The NFL on CBS

12:30 (I think it was just 1/2 hour back then) seemed to take forever..It seemed we always got the Steelers games atleast...What really sucked was NO HIGHLIGHTS! I`d have to hope to see 2-3 plays on MNF on the halftime highlights..

I hope some West Coast people give their opinion on this...

A few years back I worked in Cali for a few months .... I'd wake up and they'd be in the 2nd quarter ....

I couldn't adjust - it just didn't seem right - no PIZZA, wings & beer for the "early" games.

May sound easy to say , but I honestly believe, even if I was raised in the West, I just simply wouldnt like having to be ready at 10:00 Am to watch the first games. As Jazz mentioned, no time to run errands or do those last few things before the game, leading up to the excitement of kickoff, as well as Lander pointing out the "football~food" just not going well at 10 in the morning.

How about when the World Series was played all in the daytime...First night game ever was 1971 game 3 (i`m pretty sure) Last day game ever was game 4 1983..

.......ironically both involved Baltimore

I much prefer west coast, all around. Couldn't imagine staying up till 1am to watch a night game in the NHL or MLB. I'll take the trade off of Watching a Football game at 10am.
