Which team do you think got the better of the Walker-LaFrentz trade, Boston or Dallas?

Regular Season = Dallas advantage.
Post Season = ??? LaFrentz isn't that big of a factor, but Walker was a liability against the Nets. He can be a selfish stubborn player, whereas LaFrentz seem to be a good team player.

That said, I think the trade hurts both teams.

Dallas will be a 1-4 with or without Walker, but he may hurt them in the post season.

Boston will have a harder time even making the playoffs without someone to help Pierce.

Remember the other part to this trade ........Delk for a Mav 1st round pick.
Delk will help the Mavs....and hopefully the Celts snare somebody good in the draft.

Dallas needs rebounding help even more now although LaFrentz clearly wasn't the answer, especially come playoff time. He wasn't even boxing out in the 2003 playoffs and he had terrible games where he would pick up numerous fouls in just a couple of minutes. He had such a hard time matching up against opposing teams centers. He is more of a big/power forward who was playing out of position. I say he is easily on the downside of his career. I just do not know if their will be enough balls to go around for Nash, Finley, Walker, Jamison, and Nowitzski. This is all about Don Nelson trying to get as many all star calibur players as he can. Look out he did the same thing in Golden State about 9 years ago starting with Webber and the team imploded soon there after!!

I think it was a draw.

Mavs got more offensive firepower and a guy that initiates the offense himself, neither of which they need.

Celtics get an over-priced marginal player and most likely a marginal late 1st round draft pick.

What I think Ainge realized was that you can't get to NBA finals playing the way Walker did, nearfly leading the league in field goal attempts with one of the worst shooting percentages 38.8% in the league. So he decided to blow it up and start over.

Not sure what Dallas was thinking unless they look to trade Jamison or Walker for other needs like defense and rebounding.

Neither. Boston is probably happy to get rid of a punk ass player with an attitude while getting a decent center that brings game and nothing else to the team. Dallas is probably happy to get another scorer and has enough characters in there to deal with the attitude of Walker. I dont think I would have traded for either player

Walker needs to learn that their is some good that comes from a 15' shot. All of them do not need to be from 25'

Looks like it favors Dallas. Who knows, however, if Walker will be able to integrate himself with his new teammates. Raef is a little lame, in my opinion. Time will obviously tell.

I agree with Lander, Bos without Walker's help to Paul Pierce is really gonna suffer.
On the other hand i'm not sure if Dallas actually needed Walker's help.

Lafrenz was a shittier Nowitski type player. If they wanted to draw the C outside theyd play Dirk at C. Raef is really a forward if you ask me.

Walker is more active and hopefully his %s will go up since his heaving isnt needed.

Ainge should of gotten more for Walker. You should never break apart your talent selling a dime for a nickel and 5 pennies and if both are worth 10 cents.

Boston got hosed in my opinion with that contract but I also think what Rush Limbaugh would be saying right now if he was on the air. Boston wants a white guy they can wave at the LArry Bird fans they lost when Walker started doing his shimmy after hitting fadeaway 3s.

Dallas killed Boston in this deal.

Lafrentz is a joke. One of those players who could put up good stats on a losing team but could contribute nothing to a winning team.
