Was it because of a huge money win, or just seeing your favorite team win it all

Mine would have to be

Pittsburgh

vs Dallas

XIII

The

Steelers
icon_cool.gif
were at their peak as a dynasty and this game is still argueably the best one to date...

The great players on each side of the ball I think has kept this game fresh in NFL historians and fans minds forever...
Jackie Smith dropping the wide open game tying touchdown
icon_eek.gif
, Swanni soaring high into the night to grab a touchdown
icon_cool.gif
Stallworth racing down the middle for 6
icon_wink.gif
, Bradshaw bombs away
icon_cool.gif
Franco (with the help of a key block by the referee) shoving it in Hollywood Henderson's face....

This game will always be my favorite,

Pittsburgh 35 Dallas 31

I like to think the game was not as close as the final score, with Pittsburgh at one point being up 35-17, but this was a pretty close game that briefly got out of hand before Dallas rallied late...

The last Packers Superbowl victory.

Took out 30 years of frustration dating back to childhood.

In top 3 days of my life.

Hey J-man, the Pitts vs Dallas twice?

Best for me was Dallas wiping out Buffalo in their first encounter. It wiped away a lot of bad memories of the Catch, Pitt and most of the 80s and early part of the 90s in the wilderness.

LOL- I believe Dallas was victimized quite a few times by "The Catch" Swanni
icon_eek.gif
had quite a few that could also be labeled as "The Catch"

I wasn't going to mention Pitt/Dal Super Bowl X, but since you did ...How can anyone not get chills thinking back to when

Cliff Harris was a pretty good player but wanted no part of "Dracula In Cleats"

All because Roy Gerela and his Super Bowl kicking woes...Gerela was the Steelers only weakness...He was a horrible kicker! But two of his biggest Super Bowl blunders worked in Pittsburgh`s favor...

The missed FG that set Lambert off and the botched kickoff that Randy White (witha cast on) could not recover, setting the Steelers up yet again deep in Cowboy territory!

Super Bowl XXIII. Even though I was rooting for the Bengals, it was the first good Super Bowl I had ever seen.

Last years Super Bowl is also up there, if only because I cashed a good-sized ticket on a longshot bet.

Rams Vs. Steelers Jan. of 1980. I was at the game at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Great game Steelers won 31-19 as 11.5 point favorites. Rams PK Efren Herrera missed an extra point. Beautiful day, terrific crowd, I won some money booking plus 11.5 with a bunch of guys I knew in Vegas. I drove down with a girlfriend and two other couples in a van I had at the time, got to the Rose Bowl at about 6AM. and tailgate partied all day with Steeler fans who drove motor homes to the game from Pittsburg. Last SB win by the great Steeler teams of the 70's.

Wil,remeber being at a party for that one.Friend of mine was running his mouth at halftime, trashing the steelers.I believe Rams were up at the half.I gave him +11'.The $ was secondary to seeing his face as The Steelers rolled.

Wil- did you already have seats? I kind of remember you talking about this last year (with the spread)...when I look back at that game it always stands out to me what a picture perfect day it appeared to be...

And it was a doubly good day for me, I went to the Maryland Basketball game earlier that day and watched the Terps knock off No.1 Notre Dame at the buzzer! Never forget that day!

Judge Yeah the Steelers came from behind. In the First qtr. Wendell Tyler broke free for a 60 or so yard gain, after that the Steelers gave him the worst beating I ever seen a Running back take. Once he actually "walked" off the field on his knees. Franco Harris scored a late TD with less than 3 minutes to go, that put the game on 12.

Jman - Funny thing, between the 6 of us we had 3 tickets I picked up at my job in Vegas. One of the guys that drove down with me and myself went out into the area outside the turnstyles, and bought 3 more tickets from a scalper at face value, so we had to sit apart, we put the girls in the End zone seats, and us guys were around the 10 yard line. Scalpers could'nt give tickets away for that game for some reason.

it is also my fave - but because i am a die-hard broncos' fan (over 25 years now) and had suffered thru so many SB routs that when "we" finally won one i was giddy beyond belief.

I remember reading about a SB where Las Vegas took a bath. Line swung from 9 to 11 or something and landed on 10, and same with total...swung a few pts...and both landed in middle. Anyone remember the year...or have a link to that article? Think Vegas took a big hit that year.

Bases The Green Bay New England Game, SB 31, landed on 14 final 35-21. I believe the total 56 was also close to landing. The worse beat for bookies came in the 70's. SB 13, in 1979. Pittsburg beat Dallas 35-31. The game opened -3.5 Steelers and closed -4.5. There were no offshore books at the time, but Las Vegas books and locals big and small all over the US took a major bath.
