MC, I feel obligated to pass on info from the Rumor Mill here. Olympic is the definate choice for us, whether this is rumor or not.

06.20.03 (11:46 pm ET) - Employee (trusted manager) of 5Dimes Sports out of Costa Rica cleans them out for a quarter of a million dollars then attempts to extort the book into paying him more. Unfortunately for 5Dimes, this is the least of their problems. 911 readers should use caution here effective July 26 and beyond.

Mad Capper and General:

FYI, 250K is really not a big amount for a book like 5 dimes. 5 dimes' owner is razor sharp. He's got a great reputation; he pays when he loses, unfailingly. But what makes 5 Dimes one of the best books out there is the amount of props and lines on events nobody else deals. Give'em a try, you won't regret it.

As for Sting, I thought you guys would have figured out already where all his info is coming from. Most of Sting's sources are book employees, ex-employees and people who really do not have acces to prime time info. If you guys think about it for 1 second, Sting is in DIRE need of information, in order to keep his agonizing site going. Rumors and gossip have proved to work for others in other fields and industries, so I guess he thought he might as well try it.

Sting took a cheap B.S. shot at Rick @ Allworld, the he just apologized for not having confirmed the veracity of his "source". What kind of journalist goes public with unfounded info? You guys figure that one out.

Retaking the main subject,5 Dimes is a solid, respected and reputable shop. It is true this CR piece of shit ex-employee stole $$$ from them, but believe me when I tell you the amount, although significant, was not crucial; niether will it affect their ability to pay.

I appreciate your information Walk. I have no facts to back what Sting says there, but I felt like it deserved to be shown to a new player looking to post-up. Time will tell. I would rather it not be true, but if it is, then i can sleep better knowing I let this player know what i heard.

Almost forgot, the 1 veracious source Sting might have is David caruthers from BetonSports, a book that will not pay big winners.

Take it FWIW, guys.

General:

I think you're doing the right thing. Players have the right to know. It's also important that people who really know what's going on speak up when the reputation of a good book is in question.

Knowledge is power, General. The more we know the better off the player wil be.

Pregame also has -2.5 lines. I have never seen a -3.5 line anywhere.

Walk,,,thanks, well said...

Madcapper, Do a quick search on "sting", it should help you understand that piece from his 'site'.
Most likely, 5Dimes turned down 911 when asked about advertising, so, they get bad press.

Both books are fine, just see which one offers more of what you want personaly.
