Which poster thinks they could play 5:00 in an NBA game and not look like an idiot?

In 5 minutes, 10 minutes top, I would get at least a double double and would probably be on pace for a triple double. Hold my beer.

About 2 or 3 times a year I get to play some pick up games with a mid level D1 college team that will probably only win 12 or 13 games this year with a losing record.
They blow me away and make me look foolish.
Im sure they would do the same thing to 99% of the people reading this post.

And to think those same guys that make me look foolish are guys that NBA players would make them look foolish.

I did play with Shaq one time but he was the only NBA player in the game. The rest of us were just regular Joes and he was not trying very hard.
So it was very difficult to gauge myself against him.

But the college team made me look like an idiot and they wont even be in the NIT.

I'd love to sit court side for an NBA game one time just to gauge how fast and athletic that level of play really is. I'm sure Saban would be an awesome D1 CBB coach.

Give me 5 mins in the NBA i'd have 3-6 pts, 2 assists and 1 foul.

I'm pretty sure I can make 1 3 pointer as I'm am/was a decent 3 point shooter.

I'm also a very small guy who likes to drive the ball. I have a feeling I'd draw at least 1 foul in that 5 mins.

Definitely couldn't compete with them in the game, but after the game when they smoke out, I'd be a valuable underdog! LOL

Biggest issue for everyone on here is defense. Those guys could blow by anyone because of quickness and length and for the ones thay may lack quickness, their size won't let you interfere with their destination. Mainly the "tweeners" in the NBA that are a mix of small/ power forward.

I think people would be surprised how effortless it is for them to dunk on you when in your mind, they are too far from the basket to do that.

I am not a real big fan of the current NBA, but as far as pound for pound pure athleticism, there is nothing else like it.

Let me get this straight. You're saying that if they let you play a whole NBA game that you think you could score?

Unless you're an elite athlete, your legs would be gone after the first quarter, and you'd be lucky to make it down the court.

Have you watched an NBA game lately? Defenders take plays off all the time. And when I say the entire game, I am not saying all 48 minutes, Im referring to starter minutes so I play most of the game. Also, when players double off me to trap or play help defense, I will get open looks and I have a good jump shot.

I think you are vastly underestimating an NBA player's reach.

No, I actually have a good wingspan but of course they would block my shot after seeing it. But originally it catches them off guard and its tougher to guard left handed people. Also, the jump hook shields the ball from being blocked vs any defender not over 6"5 I would say
