i don't get the Wiggins love. sorry, I just don't. I watched a ton of KU basketball this year and I don't think he has the mental toughness, attitude, aggression to make it. I saw him getting bodied out of the lane constantly, lose battles for lost balls, and look very tentative when the game was his to take over.

He seems like a good kid and I hope he does well but I'm not seeing it. Now watch, he will turn into the next Kevin Durant and Ill be laughed out of this forum. :(

Funny you say that. I feel the exact same way.

Durant is the type of player Wiggins could become...I just don't know if Wiggins has that kind of maniacal drive in him. He's an OK shooter, but not a deadly one. He's got good athleticism, although not really the kind that makes you say "holy shit, did he just do that?" He's more smooth than explosive. Seems tentative and unsure of himself too often. I think he's living off the hype coming out of high school. Also probably needs to add 20 lbs of bulk if he wants to play the 3 position in the NBA.

I'm not suggesting Wiggins sucks...there is a lot to like about his game. He just seems to be pretty overrated.

Embiid has back issues, which are always a concern for guys his size. But if he checks out medically, the Cavs should take him. He's a force in the paint and has nice shooting range from 15 and within. Those types of bigs aren't easy to find. The loss of Serge Ibaka is a big reason the Thunder have gotten destroyed in the first two games of the WCF...they're getting owned in the paint.

I think that is the attraction about Wiggins, he has the most potential to still improve. Solid player now, but the idea of he has not yet reached his peak is exciting for teams. Jabari Parker will be the same player in the NBA just with tweaks to his stye. Which isnt a bad thing but Wiggins will (try to) develop new aspects to his game he does not have yet. Much higher ceiling for him

If Embiid did not have back issues I think he would easily be the favorite at #1

This is funny. Yep me and the dog trust a 7footer that was hurt at 19. Guess what? When you are 19 unless you have a complex fracture, you aren't hurt. He should be deported, not drafted. It amuses me when people cap games on "tiredness". Seriously? I used to play for hours outside when I was 19/20.

Without having access to his medical records, as fans we have to go by what we see. If Embiid slides out of the top 3 than we can say his back is a major concern for teams. In my eyes he is the best prospect. And really the gap seperating Parker and Wiggins from the guys who are mocked to go between 4-7 isn't as big as what many are saying. Parker will refine his game more in the pro's but I don't think he is a guy with tons of untapped potential. Wiggins has potential, but it seems to be more overrated hype coming out of hs after watching him for a year. I think his career is more likely to resemble someone like Vince Carter than Jordan. Has better physical tools than most, but not elite. Lacks the drive to take over games consistently and push himself to be better than everyone else.

Do torn acl's, dislocated hips, and soft tissue damage not count as being hurt?

You gotta go embiid I think but Cavs will probably screw it up.

Also if your the Cavs, this dude is from Africa. He probably won't even think Cleveland is that bad.

Elite interior defense is just so important as we're seeing with OKC not having Ibaka right now. As we saw with Noah and MGasol leading their teams to good seasons despite an overall lack of talent.

You don't know basketball. Andrew Wiggins has the potential of a greater ceiling than almost anyone in the draft, but he isn't aggressive enough to be the closer than he needs to be. Embiid gives them a presence in the post and on the defensive side of the ball that they need desperately. If Embiid is healthy, Cavs easily make him the first pick.

Wiggins doesn't give solve their problem. They wind up Waiter and Wiggins at the 2. Wiggins can be All-Nba witin a couple years defensively, but offensively, he will completely acquiesce to Irving. Embiid can run the floor and has very big upside as well.

If you think you know basketball, then I will just bump.... This is IU.

Smart may turn out to be the best NBA player.

He is going to be a complete bust. He is 6'3, doesn't have great handles for a point. Terrible shooter. Worst part of his game is his, when he hits shots, he thinks he is Steph Curry and will shoot. His shot is fools gold.
