If you had to win ONE game today with a pitcher in his prime, whom would you take? For me, It's Pedro with NO hesitation.

I was waiting for someone to say that because this started with a friendly argument with a friend of mine. Says Jake's year run is best of all time. Couple things would make me dispute that but hte most obvious one is...he pitches in the NATIONAL League! Plus I just am not buying him just yet to have a run like Pedro or some others did. Pedro 1999 (remember the All Star Game?) is just unreal...during the JUICE days, in the AL!

To pitch in this day and age against players today?? Dennis Eckersly.... hasnt been a sidearm pitcher like him in over a decade, and his release would stun and cause batters to freeze in this day and age

There is no right or wrong answer here of course, but man, some of these answers are VERY surprising! NFL TRENDS, if your life depended on winning that ONE game, you would truly pick Eck to pitch for you?

Can't remember who he was facing but I got him at the beginning of the season at -115 and it felt like the biggest gift of all time

Ever watch Eckersly pitch? If you read the reason why... is that batter for the past decade havent seen a release like his... and just for 1 game.... he would dominate.

If I had to pick one for a whole season... I would take Randy J. or Roger C.

until arrieta throws a pitch in a world series game nobody can claim he's the best big-game pitcher

1 NLCS start and gave up 4 ER in 5 IP ... 1 NLDS start 4ER in 5 2/3 ... chill out on the accolades

I certainly have! And I am a fan, even a fan now I am a fan of his work on NESN, but gun to my head, I doubt he would be in the top 100!

The Big Train, although Pedro and Gibson are also great choices
