I went with Seattle. The offense still has holes but is at least doable with Ichiro in there. The pitching staff looks good and if they stay healthy, this team is a legit playoff contender IMO. Felix and Bedard are a great 1-2.

I agree with Seattle. I think that Toronto has a pretty good shot this year. The jays have some hot bats this year but lets see if their bats lat a whole season.

I don't think Toronto can keep it up. They have a very average rotation and the bullpen has issues. Offensively they are strong but I think that division is too tough for them. In another division I'd give them a shot though.

I like the Padres. I always thought that the pre-season ranks that put them at the bottom of the NL West were a bit harsh. Sure, its not a stellar year for them, but the NL West is always SO wide open and .500 can put you at the top. Padres still have a shot.

Although anyone has a chance in the NL West, I still think the Dodgers are easily the best in that division. San Diego just doesn't seem to have any part of the game (lineup, starters, pen) that is any better then average. Peavy and Young are great and that Gonzalez feller may be the most underrated in the game but I just don't see this team competing. Just my opinion.

You've got to be kidding, that team is terrible.

Why no Marlins?

Because they would run away with this poll. I thought they were a playoff team before the season started personally and many others did as well. The teams listed above did not get nearly as much love.

you can't be serious, no pirates?!

I love Ian Snell and the rotation has a ton of potential but I didn't think there was any chance they put it all together this year.

Hey look, I didn't say this team is full of future HOFs. But are they good enough to still have a shot at the NL West where .500 teams have won it before many times? Sure they are, you'd be wrong to think otherwise.

I voted for the Tigers. Anyone can take that Central division and the bats are solid. If Verlander can figure his shit out, they have a decent enough rotation.
