One that offers job security and low stress or a position where you make 150-200% more?

People that tkae a job strictly because of money are usually unhappy. Saying that, 100-150% more is a significant jump in pay and something you definitely have to consider.

Yea I got layed off 6 months ago. Which bugs me because my production was consistently near the top. Because I dealt with a niche client base my one mistake was magnified during a lull in business. Got lucky found another job without any gap in pay with a much smaller company. My previous employer has offered for me to come back. My current base is comparable but I used to kill it on comp checks.

For me its all about the money. I enjoy having a high quality of life.

I've been broke and i've had money and life is much, much better with money. Especially if you like the finer things in life and love to travel.

Really is to each his own.

You our have to, of course, evaluate it. How old are you, where are you at in life as compared to where you want to be etc.

money makes the world go round. Just depends on the kind of ride you want to take.

Do you want kids, do you have kids, are they of age to where they are self sustained?

Married, getting married, divorced?

All rhetorical questions of course.

Best advice is to not take advice from a forum, let alone a gambling forum. Weigh it out. Yeah, working sucks but so does not having financial freedom.

And by he way, the more time and freedom you have, the more you need to enjoy, in most cases.

But you asked, so, I would take the job that paid more and see if that works. Always easier to down grade than upgrade.

without a doubt I would take the job that put me in the best position financially in the long run - anyone that is successful at anything spent a portion of their life going balls to the wall - didn't say u have to kill urself for 40 years and die but u get what u put in

Thinking you are on the younger side and nothing wrong with what you say.

I thought the same, and glad I did at the time. Now that I am a little more settled in. The dollar is not as valuable as the time. I am 39 for perspective.

Sure I work hard, but not over the top as I used to.

And of course, to each his own. I will say, for me, ain't a out the money. But of course, you have to have at least some to say that.

Continuing on with the discussion, pay check to pay check would be tough and for sure take the higher paid job, in my opinion.

IMO living paycheck to paycheck is a lot more stressful then having a high paying stressful job

29, not married, no kids, but both might be coming within the next 2 years. With the lower paying job I'm not living check to check but i'm not able to contribute as much towards my retirement as I had been. It took my a couple of years to figure things out after college so long-term financially i'm better off than most people my age but in my mind not where I want to be.

seems like one of the things where you need to talk it out, because in reality is we won't know enough of the details about the jobs, you, your money and ideals...
