Which is the fastest Bank in Costa Rica to cash a US-issued personal check?

I have a US check (Bank of America) that I want to cash fast. Which bank is fastest clearing a check here in Costa Rica? Are there other ways? Would appreciate any and all info. Thanks.

I do it with Scotiabank and it takes them around 2 weeks to deposit the $ in my account

Tico I think fuze means if the check is older than six months they wont take it. That has happened to me.

Nope, when you open a new account here now at pretty much every bank I checked at, they will refuse to let you cash or deposit checks until you've had six months worth of activity with the account. Very strange.

Love how they want bank references from the states, utility bills, employment verification, cedula# to open a fucking bank account. I'm the one doing them a favor by giving them business.
