99 to '14 not a huge gap though and CBB has changed a ton. I'd say the '99 team that beat Duke is the best, that Duke team was stacked.
With guys leaving earlier college bball just doesn't have the talent it used to. That UConn/Butler '11 game was like the nadir of the sport if you weren't a UConn fan.

He's got to control that temper day in and day out, in time he'll be a Norris winner.as for the match-up of teams? very difficult to compare different decades.. Technology changes the game, improves it. For starters the goalies would have to use the same equipment. Todays equipment is lighter, larger, not as water absorbent- factors that improve todays goaltending performance. As a specific example, goalie pads before approx 1990 were TWICE as heavy as todays, ugh. Another example is skates-- can't compare today's skate Vs 20-30 yrs ago!...and the sticks, etc. Players are bigger/stronger. All adds up to a faster game.
