Which cliche do you hate the most? Mine is when a coach states that his player 'Always gives me 110 Percent !" My follow-up question would ask that coach why, if his player can give 110 percent effort, why can't he give 120 percent? 130 percent, etc.? Always pissed me off to hear that and inevitably , we will hear it again soon. What are your pet-peeves with cliches? PS. I guess we all could start with the cliches in Bull Durham, and go from there(even though I love that movie).

"he had the presence of mind" to do something, like the job he's been playing all his life

never made much sense to me, like playing sports is rocket science

"Hard earned money"; especially when voiced by a politician who has never worked a real job in his entire life; and shows no difficulty spending your "hard earned money" on what is politically necessary. junk..

One i dont like lately thats sports related is...

"He can score the ball"

It doesnt even sound like proper grammar.
What happened to a simple "He can score" proceeded by the rest of the description...

Its a rivalry. Throw away the record books.
The records dont matter because this is a rivalry.

It dont matter that Auburn is 2-9 and Bama is 10-1.
None of that matters because these teams are rivals.

3 hours later Bama wins by 50.

At work I hate it when I hear management tell people they "need to work smarter" when they've laid off a bunch of people, and those still employed are doing the work of more than one person.

Um, like people are working dumb?

I feel like saying "shut the fuck up."
