The guys a goal scorer and he knows it as well.
The thing he doesn't know is that he's a disgusting selfish 'jerk'.
Sounds like the wrong player was taken in that car accident awhile back.

-San Jose-

Dumping $4.67 million off their over the limit cap by trading Ehrhoff and Lukowich allows them to sign Torrey Mitchell and/or trading for Heatley.

“When the right thing is there,” Doug Wilson said today, referring to ongoing talks with other teams this summer, “having that flexibility is a wonderful thing under this system, being able to explore things or put closure to them. When the timing is right and it makes sense to both teams, you have the flexibility and those things can happen.”

Of some interest:
Mike Babcock chose to pair Heatley on a line with Joe Thornton and Patrick Marlow during Thursday night’s Canadian Olympic scrimmage.

great video Bushay...still lmao

I just read a short interview with Ray Ferraro, who has been close to him for ten years.

"First of all, not only have I been in the (dressing) room, I’ve roomed with Dany. I know him really well and the people that are talking that he’s toxic don’t know (expletive)! They don’t know anything about him"

"He had a terrible year last year because he wasn’t in shape. He signed a 50 million dollar contract in the summer and he kind of went on the “Summer of Dany” I called it. He had a lot of fun and he was going to ballgames and he was a half a step out of shape when he got to camp and so he had a terrible year."

"If Dany has to go back to Ottawa I’m sure he’s going to have to have a meeting with the guys. He’s going to have to mend the fence. But once the fence is mended and game one starts, he’ll be fine."

The Senators may welcome him back, but what about the fans who seemed to have been dumped at the altar? "Wait ‘till he scores his first hat trick."

This made me think what if. What if he does go nowhere and comes into camp in the best shape of his life? What if he scores another 50 goals and 100 points like he did in back to back years after the lockout? What if Clouston puts him on the second line with Alex Kovalev/Mike Fisher and suddenly the Sens aren't a one line wonder? Don't forget they finished the year going 13-7 with Brian Elliott and Alex Auld in net. (not to mention Heatley playing a diminished role on the PP) This year they have Pascal Leclaire.

I'm not touting the Sens to win the cup....just thinking this team could be a great sleeper. No one is giving them a chance, even the linesmakers. Hell, I just got them at 100/1 at a local shop. I just think they could have lots of value early and might put togther a nice run before everyone wakes up. They open at the Rangers and then to Toronto. Home against the Islanders and Atlanta before Pittsburgh comes to town. By then they could already have eight points.

Ottawa could be a money maker early.

I've always been a fan of Bryan Murray. I watched him slowly put together the Red wings just before they started winning cups in 97'. It just seemed like he just didn't have what it took ...as a [coach] to get them over the hump. And thats when Scotty Bowman was brought in to complete the job. He had the duel role in Detroit for a time as well as in Ottawa. And then, after a stint in Anaheim, put together the Sens and took them to the finals and if it wasn't for Emery, would have won a cup. Emery's antics were the beginning of the downfall of that team.
He doesn't get the respect he deserves and a good reason is that lisp he has. He talks funny but he has a very good hockey mind. LeClaire was a nice pickup if he can regain his earlier stellar play. It really wouldn't surprise me either if this team regained their poise and became a player again.

Trust me, ask any Canucks fan that tunes into Team 1040, it makes them want to punch the walls when they hear him talk. On the plus side, his son Landon is a solid prospect.

Gut reaction to the trade.

Joe Thornton and Heatly's fantasy stock have just been raised considerably IMO. 50 goal season for Heatly is a lock. He could have 60+ when it's all done. Joe will have 100 points by seasons' end.

Sharks were lacking in post season heart and have done nothing to change that.

Michalek and Cheechoo should make up for Heatley's missing 50 goals and, (with Kovalev), gives Ottawa a much needed two line attack for the first time in years.

Sens get two players, (and a second round pick), for the price of one.
Heatley $7.5 for the next four years.
Michalek $4.3 for the next five.
Cheechoo $3 for the next two.

There can be no debate that Heatley is a great offensive player but he was another cancer Ottawa could not afford to deal with. If Emery was a distraction two years ago can you imagine what chaos a disgruntled Heatley could have been?

From a betting perspective...I'm liking my Ottawa future at 125/1 more and more.

The Sharks lack heart, and the desire to win... so they go and get this guy. It could mean a President's Trophy, but at the same time, I'll be laying it down on the #8 seed just like I did last year.

I'm curious to see how San Jose starts out. Thornton is starting to hit the downward slope of his career, and who knows what Heatley will be like on a new team, and how he will be accepted.

I would have preferred he be dealt to Philly, just so it's easier to keep track of those I hate... but this is okay, spread the hate around a bit.
