Hi all. I have quite a few questions about offshore betting in the US and would like a few answers. I would give a summary about me first as i think this is very important for my situation. I also posted this on another forum 2 plus 2 where someone mentioned Bitcoin but others say that is very risky b/c your bankroll would be fluctuating daily so that seems to be a big gamble. That is one of the forums i use to post back in the early mid 2000, well i was more of a lurker then poster but did post. I had found out about this forum when googling sportsbetting forums so would like if anyone can answer these questions.

I use to bet sports recreationally back online in 2001-2004 but did bet decent amount of money and was a decent size winner. By recreationally i meant i had a job and did this on the side for extra income. The sites i played on back then was pinnaclesports, betjamaica and thegreek. I did very well on betjamaica over a few month span and they told me to join thegreek since i was winning good size amounts and i wanted to get more on games. I have never had any problems with them. Always had a payout no problem asked. Pinnaclesports was pretty much the same, i would just cashout from the account to neteller and then transfer money to my bank and it would show up in 1-2 days if im not mistaken. Around 2005 or so i decided to quit my job and bet sports full time. Reason was because i was making more money betting sports than i made at work. I did have few losing months during this time span then but then who doesn't. At the end of the year, i was always up a good amount of money. I wagered between 1000 to 3000 a game mostly from 2002-2005. When i started in 2001, i was betting $50-$100 a game to start out and then got a very lucky streak in a few months where i was then starting to bet 500 a game comfortably. Hit a few parlays which gave my bankroll a huge boost.

Around 2005, most of my wagers were between 2k-5k. I mainly bet on the nba and mlb. I had a very good year in 2005 and decent 1st half of the year in 2006 but i decided to take a break as this kind of took a toll on me. This was around june 2006 and then in the next month or so, i just withdrew all my money from pinnacle and thegreek and decided to look for another job which i found within a few months pretty easily. I found out online later on then neteller funds got seized and i thought wow i got to be so lucky because i got nothing there because i withdrew everything a few months back. I then read neteller left left the us and there was no longer an ewallet left. So i felt like i got lucky in that i got my funds out on time. I recently got laid off and really considering going back to betting sports offshore but i have quite a few questions since its been so long. First off, i read that pinnacle sports and thegreek is not allowed in the us anymore and there is no ewallet.

1. I done some research and the only usa serving books left that are good are 5dimes, bookmaker, heritage, youwager, betonline. Can someone tell me here if these books are safe?
The thing is i would be betting decent amounts and when i called 5dimes, they told me i could do western union deposit for 1500 dollar max... which would serve no purpose to me. I used to withdraw 5 digits no problem back when i was doing it in pinnacle/thegreek... it took like 2 days max if my memory serves me correct and there was no charge at all.

2. I would want to get at least 100k into the books and possibly more. When i was doing this in 2002-2004, i had on average 100k between pinnacle/greek. When i was doing it fulltime i had 150k-250k balance on average. Would i have problems getting this amount into the us books left. Also, are there books left that would take 2k wagers no problem all the time? I read that heritage and 5dimes limits you once you win 10k or so when i did some googling.

3. Withdraws. This is what concerns me as well. I checked the sites and every site but bookmaker seem to do not big withdraws. 5dimes i check only do 3000 dollar check withdraw and so does heritage. I would not be withdrawing 3k at a time. Of course i have no problem withdrawing 3k, then 3k etc if i could get more. But is bookmaker the only site that i could withdraw 5 figures without problems? If im withdrawing i would most likely be withdrawing 20k minimum at once. I also checked and the fees for bank wires are very expensive. Such as $600 for a wire withdraw. Is that true? I just remembered when i withdrew, everything was free unless i wanted to withdraw more than twice in a month from pinnaclesports to neteller but even then it was only 15 dollars more.

I'm also from NY and i do not want to move. I know that if im in Las Vegas, i could bet there legally but i always been an east coast person. Been to vegas many times but it just doesn't suit me. I also don't know any locals, and i doubt any locals would accept me if i start winning 5 figures in the first month from them. Can someone give me some advice on which book i can go with? I also read that every book in the united states limits you except bookmaker. Is that true? The only book that limited me was betjamaica and then i moved to the greek and greek and pinnacle never limited me even though i was making a decent amt there for quite a while. So im not aware of limiting as i played at the 2 pro friendly sportsbook from 01-06.

Joe,

Most of what you say or have found is true. We live in different times now. The days of Neteller and ewallet are gone.
But some Books have ways to get larger amounts to you, but there might be some small bumps in the road by doing so.

also most books are for recreational players, meaning with the size wagers you are talking about.. you could very well get booted sooner than later.

Of course Vegas would be the easy answer, but that doesn't mean you need to Move there. You need a Proxy. But if you don't have someone that you don't trust good enough there, then that answer is mute.

a little shocked that with your gambling experience that you never found a Local being that you are a NY guy...

The thing you will probably have to do is split your balance up between 3 or 4 Shops.

What shops do you suggest most for plays of a 500-1000 without....
Being badgered and limited or having an account closed. Hopefully including ease of withdrawal.

Betallsports, thanks for that clarification. Can you tell me which books are these that do larger amounts? Is it basically bookmaker/betdsi only? I read they are a pro friendly book so basically thats my only option?

There is one big problem with vegas besides me not wanting to live there or proxy. I have heard of proxy but isn't that just for the las vegas hilton contest? Or you could actually have someone make wagers for you? Because isn't that illegal? I dont know anyone in vegas but if i had a friend there and have him open an account or i go there and open an acct then text him what i want to bet then he bet it for me, that would be fine? Im pretty sure i read that isn't allowed. But if it is, i assume its more safer that i go there and open an acct and that person would be making all the wagers for me in my account? Big issue is the trust and if that person does open an acct under their name, wouldn't it make it a problem since that person probably doesn't want all those betting to go in his name? Back to the big problem. Vegas lines are standard -110. Majority of my wagers were on pinnaclesports and thegreek. Thegreek did have -110 lines. I say 70 percent of my action back then was on pinnacle due to the lower vig. If i had played all my wagers at thegreek, i definitely would not have done quite as well.

I don't know anyone that gambles. Im a pretty private person and only a few that are close to me knows. I never had to find a local because i had pinnaclesports and thegreek and deposit/payouts were really easy... didn't really need a local.

Which places would i have to split my balance in? I assume bookmaker and betdsi and 5dimes?

5Dimes, Bookmaker... and I like Betonline*

I put the * there because most people think I shill for them. I DON'T
I know them because I have known the people there since Day 1 and I personally make most of my wagers there. Also because I know them, I've help Anybody and Everyone that ever had a problem getting paid ( for whatever reason )
Not that they don't pay, because they do... but there's always bumps in the road for all books.

I believe Bookmaker will take a larger wager than dsi, betonline will too. 5Dimes might not like you as a Winner. Not saying you can't win there... but going by your first post, that size... they just might boot you.

Getting back to Vegas ... nobody said anything about it being legal... but it is being done.
again, you need someone that you 100% trust. and yes, that person making the wagers has access to your money
best way to contain it, is making trips to Vegas to collect or have that person to send you money weekly, keeping just the opening balance in the account.

There has been other talk about how to get around the Vegas system, by doing it remotely. I know a few working on this.

like I said your other option ... a REAL Local. I understand about being a private person. there's Plenty of the same out there.

I think the first step to finding a good book for you is to start posting your plays on this forum

Betting this kind of money in the us is basically over outside of going to Vegas.

You can do it at cris at -110

I've know several guys in NYC who are hurting.

Pinny credit is is basically dead (not quite but limits way down)

matchbook credit is gone.

Ive basically thrown in the towel.

At the 5k or higher bet level I think you might as well buy property in canada, Bahamas, etc and go from there. I may just buy a ski condo in Canada and play from there but the us seems done for larger players.

Good luck

If I am not mistaken (anyone please correct me if I am wrong), if you start winning 5 figures frequently in Vegas you will get limited as well. The big corporations just tolerate the sportsbook so they can hope to get you over to the slots to lose your ass. They don't want to pay you consistently so they will limit you severely when you show you have some idea of what you are doing.

Depends on the sport. You can pretty much get down whatever you want on the NFL. If you are winning in arena or tennis or whatever they will limit you very quick.
