Are they all going to make the team?

Any looking at significant playing time?

Thanks again.

Ray Rice has looked good during preseason. McGahee might not be ready for week 1, so there is a chance of Rice starting. McGahee is still named the starter though.

Steve Slaton is 3rd on the RB depth chart for the Texans behind Green and Brown if I remember correctly. Both Green and Brown are injury prone so Slaton might end up starting later on.

Kevin Smith is fighting Tatum Bell for the starting job and it looks like he'll win it. Bell has pretty much been a huge bust his entire career.

Dennis Dixon got bumped up to second string after Batch broke his right collarbone.

Slaton and Smith will end up being starters for the majority of their careers. I see one if not both being multiple participants in the pro bowl. They both have the talent and most importantly teams dedicated to run the ball.

Kevin Smith is a nice longshot to win ROY. Teams will concentrate on stopping the WR's.

Ahman Green is currently injured, may or may not be ready for start of season.

What about the Chris Johnson kid from East Carolina? Where is he at and what is his status?

Kevin Smith will average 15 carries a games as the starter for the Lions and with their commitment to the run.

</TD></TR><TR><TD>Following a long and cumbersome preseason for the Houston Texans, local beat writers have thrown their support behind rookie rusher Steve Slaton, voicing their belief that the former West Virginia offensive catalyst should earn the starting job if not now, then soon, according to the Houston Chronicle.</TD></TR><TR><TD style="PADDING-TOP: 15px">Our View: Both Chris Taylor and Steve Slaton are the backups to veterans Ahman Green (injured) and Chris Brown (also not at 100%, as usual). Both are going to improve. Slaton has exceeded expectations, according to the coaches. What the coaches like about Slaton, other than his speed and big-play ability, is the way he's improved as a blocker and isn't afraid to take on pass rushers. He was a power in college and the pedigree for greatness at the professional level is there. He lacks size, but Warrick Dunn was raised in this same offensive system, designed by Alex Gibbs, and the two carry similar traits. We will see what the Texans can do, but Slaton should be in your fantasy radar if he wasn't already.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Don't see how Slaton will get the bulk of the carries......he left early because he wasn't going to start this year at WVU
