Could not agree with you more! I like Jr as a person...seems like a hell of a guy and very down to earth....but insanely overrated. He is the man on restrictor plate tracks, but the other 32 races of the year is a different story. He is talented, but so are another 30+ guys on the track. Jr couldnt ever live up to Sr's reputation

His last victory was here in my hometown, Richmond Va, in the spring of 2006....i think thats 75 races ago!

If not related to Earnhardt Sr, his name with brought up as often as the McMurruys, Mears, Sorensons of the world. Those guys have won as many, if not more, than Jr has. Earnhardt nation will always be around though, so better get used to it!

I have never been a Jr. Fan. In fact I think "Jr nation" reinforces the idea of Nascar being a redneck sport.

However, I think DEI's marketing of "Jr. nation" was one of the best sales success stories of the last ten years, since I felt that they were able to accomplish so much with an average driver (other than on restrictor plates).

However, after Jr's switch to Hendrick I have changed my mind about his talent level. There is no question that he is one of the top ten drivers in Nascar and I probably would not argue much about top five.

I thought when he went to Hendrick we would see that he could not compete with JJ or JGordon and he has been spanking them. Additionally, where is DEI? They are a second tier Chevy team without Jr.

As a gambler I absolutely love Jr. because the polarization he causes often yields positive expectations.

Not because he had the fastest car, just very lucky. May the heavens be with you.
