I probably should have brought this up long ago, but here's the deal. The rules page states that the Hockey Contest ends on Wednesday, March 31st. The regular season, however, runs thru Sunday, April 4th. Why weren't these final 4 days included? It may be a moot point now, but I thought I'd throw it out as a poll question anyway and get whatever feedback I can. How do you guys see it? Should the last 4 days be part of the contest or should things remain status quo with no changes. The General has contacted V-Wager about this and they have given the go ahead to extend it thru Sunday the 4th if the consensus is in favor. Vote below and feel free to chime in with any comments.
In retrospect, a poll probably wasn't the way to approach this. Really, anyone without any remote chance of cracking the top 5 could give a crap whether we extend the contest. So they aren't gonna vote. That leaves a select few who care one way or the other. Predictably, the guys at the top want to get it over with and those chasing need as many plays as they can get. Kinda explains the current tally (6-1) in favor of extending. I was actually expecting to see it 5-2 but that's beside the point. As you know, I've harped on sticking to the rules all year long, so making this suggestion would seem to be counter productive, but I wanted to give you guys a chance to voice your opinion. Unfortunately, if we can't have total agreement, we probably shouldn't tamper with anything. Funny how a few days ago, 1st and 2nd place was a foregone conclusion. Now suddenly, things are getting very interesting. Wouldn't it be a stunner if somebody like Crazy Ivan, who's hot as a pistol right now, overtakes Chach on, of all days, March 31st?
