When playing a favorite does it make more sense to

lay 110 to win 100 or
lay 100 to win 91?

I don't know if there is a right way or a wrong way to bet, but I've never figured out if it is better to lay 1 unit on favorite or to try to win 1 unit. I've always thought that if I'm playing a heavy favorite it's better to lay 1 unit because I'm at less risk, but what do other people do/think?

Just your choice as it is still the same odds. When i used to play with a local i always did 110/100 but online it doesn't really matter.

I always bet to win whatever unit amount. I don't think either way is better, it's just personal preference.

That's correct, 11-10 will always be 11-10 whether the wager is $54.50 or 100 dollars.

technically it is 100 to win 90.91, if you get 100 to win 91 that is an ever so slightly better payout and less juice. Take forever to amount to anything though

while it is personal preference it is always easier on your record keeping and managing your unit size to bet to win your unit on a favorite and risk your unit size on a dog.

-110 = $110 to win $100

+150 = $100 to win $150

in no way do your odds change but if you decide to grow and take it seriously you will want to go this route.
