Without sounding like a snob i usually do my own capping rather than following others , BUT, as a year round player i go through capper burn-out 3 or 4 times a year and during those times i look for others to follow. ... i'm also selective in some sports and dont have enough action so i will look for others to follow then also. .... When looking for someone to follow i'm looking for 3 things :

(1) A ytd record including money/units won/lost. : I always feel kind of blind and naked if someone doesn't post a record ... and it's so easy to do that i get that red light of curiosity if a poster doesn't.

(2) A write-up or reason for the pick : This isnt as important to me as a record b/c there are always guys who are on fire (like bourn and lexington brass currently are) and if one of those red hot guys post a pick , i'm not asking why , i'm asking how much ..lol. ....BUT write-ups are important to help others make their own decisions and helpful for passing info along.

(3) A posters personality. : This is not as important as the first 2 b/c i can deal with an assclown if they are making money , but generaly speaking i HATE braggarts , blowhards , attention whores , and tout wannabe's and theres really no reason for that nonsense. .... i look for class posters who dont promote themselves and let their winning do their talking.

So besides the obvious answer of "winners" what do you look for when following other members ?

Completely agree Ty with your statement; "i HATE braggarts , blowhards , attention whores , and tout wannabe's and theres really no reason for that nonsense"

My thread the other day asking about unit size...... I don't think I made myself understood very well. I was really trying to help in the fact that many people overstate their unit size in trying to satisfy their "braggart , blowhard , and attention whore" tendencies. For the most part, these are not people you want to follow too much.

Your post would be a big help to the forum if people would pay attention.

Thanks guys but i didnt mean for this to be a "who to follow" thread , not looking for names just wondering what you would look for. .... write-up , hot capper , or a guy with a monster lock thats going to "release" his plays haha. .... he has them in a cage and is going to release them ..lol.

What is it that grabs your attention ?

To follow (or fade) I need to see a record with units. If the poster is suspect I tally one on my own and then determine what to do with it. One of my best years ever was 2005 in NFL & NCAAF when I faded a tout named FACTSMAN. But I didn't fade him blindly, I set up some parameters. If those parameters weren't met, I passed. And I actually followed some of his picks but those were in the minority. Never follow or fade blindly, do your own homework. No one wins or loses all the time but there are opportunities out there if you know where to look.
