Population 4,000? Maybe thats why I have never heard of it.

Gatlinburg is a mountain resort city in Sevier County, Tennessee, United States. It is thirty-nine miles southeast ofKnoxville. The population was 3,944 at the 2010 Census, and 4,047 according to the 2012 Census estimate. The city is a popular vacation resort, as it rests on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park along U.S. Route 441, which connects Gatlinburg to Cherokee, North Carolina through the national park.

Just got back from a long weekend in Gatlinburg. The new Margaritaville resort is nice. Relaxing little getaway and bringing back a case of moonshine for my bar.

Debauchery with no kids around- Vegas

adult fun but more on the chill side, coupled up kind of thing- Rosario, though I haven't stepped foot in Mexico in many years.

with kids- Laguna Beach.

During the winter, big bear for snow fun.

I have really enjoyed Southern California. Beach, snow/ mountains, desert all right there.

I like to take an hour drive to Pittsburgh, if you enjoy a city atmosphere i highly recommend. Those unfamiliar with the city will say something stupid.. it is an amazing place, and once you learn you way around its even better. I enjoy walking the river up one side and down the other. Had a nice time on the fourth there and even had my first beer in over a year @ Jerome Bettis's place outside Heinz filed. If you like water activities they are there and they have some amazing bike trails if you like to rideas I do...

If you happen to be there I highly recommend a Pirates game @ PNC, amazing place to watch a baseball game, not a bad seat in the place.

I find myself needing to get away from the world more often then ever before and head to Pittsburgh for the weekend or a day very often. Can get there quickly and escape!

+1 Pittsburgh is underrated as a city....Other than the cold winters, don't really have much complaints...

we are permanently under construction, politics and taxes are kinda whacked but it is very nice at times along the river, strip district and such. The winters do suck, can get congested and its a little dirty once you get off the beaten path. Came along way though just in the past decade
