Joe Torre: Curveballs along the Way
In the summer 1996..an Atlanta Braves scout I knew, was hired as an Engineer to build a set for the above mentioned (HBO-made for TV) movie.It was aired the following year.
The movie happened to be shot in Toronto.If anyone remembers,Paul Sorvino played Joe Torre's role.
Anyway..one morning,the Braves' scout hands me the movie's transcript (knowing I'm a big fan of the Bombers).He tell's me that it's the 2nd draft,and that he needs it back.
..to make a long story short,I talked him into letting me keep it.
Almost 10 years have passed,and I've yet to get the Yankee skipper's autograph on it.
All in all,it was a great read.
