Granted, those 53 HR's last year may have been a fluke. But going from .286/.370/.634 to .194/.306/.380???
That's crazy. Is he playing hurt or something? A .092 drop in BA...that might be a record.
Agree quite obviously. Especially since baseball is so slow to be honest about the vast numbers of players who were all on the "stuff".......
Makes it all the more reasonable that they need to recognize all the best players from that era and try to patch things up.
Any of us with a speck of brains knows that baseball always knew what was taking place and cast a blind eye. "Butts in the seats" or "Chicks dig the long ball"...... or whatever you want to say..... MLB knew EXACTLY what was powering McGuire and Sosa in the HR race.
Davis is now just six at-bats shy of tying Eugenio Velez's dubious major-league recordfor the longest hitless streak by a non-pitcher at 0-for-46. Velez set the mark during a two-season run with the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers between 2010-11; his big-league career ended following his 0-for-37 run to start the 2011 season.
Thats insane. I dont care how much money you are paying someone, if you're rebuilding how do you continue to play him instesd of playing a young player for the experience and development.
If you play nowadays, you're going to make a lot of money, if you hit 33 home runs, 47 home runs, 53 home runs and you get a big seven-year deal.

I don't see anything. And we're seeing the results. He's just in a prolonged slump. You know, they say he works hard. Ehh. He told everybody in spring training that he worked with [hitting coach] Scott Coolbaugh. I asked Scott in spring training, I go, 'Hey, you must have really put in a lot of work.' He goes, 'We didn't work.' So, you know, I don't believe anything
